Looks like a 1/1 silkscreen job.
Careful of the details of that tree. If those branches are too numerous, and
too thin, it's just going to mottle into an amorphous blob of white when you
screen it.

Definitely go with one of the designs that has a single symbol. Otherwise it looks too busy.

I like the idea of a "5 elements" but maybe choosing something more symbolic / iconic for the elemental symbols? Something I dunno... more Paleolithic? haha.
I'm also not a fan of the all-caps font, but that's just me...

Yeah, but you might still get that with the 5 versions of the T-shirt—each
representing one of the elements. It might be less obvious to pull off. You'd
only start to get the whole picture once you saw two or three of the T-shirts.
I like the idea of getting different elements with different people making up
the whole, somehow. It gives the chance for a person to buy a T-shirt that
compares with thier particular personality. And of course, there's the
potential for people to collect them which is better for T-shirt sales.

hey great feedback, guys and ladies. i really appreciate it.
Funny thing is my wife and I had different ideas as to what would be appealing. She came up with the idea for the pentagram version, and I came up with all the other versions, including the single element versions.
So in a way, it's like a contest between the 2 of us. So far my wife's kicking my ass in the poll :)

I like the Hammer&Anvil and mountain peak designs the best.

Going on aesthetics, I agree that the logos with the individual elements to me look best. But looking beyond only aesthetics, what does the 5 elements mean to you and your site?
You have 5 letters in each word and 5 elements, if you are willing to have the words not be on the same line, you can do some pretty different things in terms of arrangement if you do want to have all five elements on a shirt with the lettering. 3x5 grid, 5x3 grid... Arrange them in circle with alternating characters/images where words are unified by colour of letters like a cipher. Since they have A in common, arrange Alpha as a downward sloping line, have Asian share the last A on an up ward sloping line to make a V (Roman 5 or ancient symbol for female) and put the signs in or around the V, or do the opposite for the ancient male symbol and to echo the outside lines of the upper case A...

dude, that sounds even busier than my wife's pentagram version! What you propose sounds intriguing though.
i chose the 5 elements theme because it's integral to Chinese cosmology. the lines on the pentagram version actually show the relationships of the 5 elements to each other.
let's take my element, for example: metal. Metal is conducive to water and controls wood. fire, however, controls metal. so all of the elements are interdependent, interrelated and are in balance with each other.
how this relates to the Alpha Asian blog is that it symbolizes the balanced mind and body of a whole, complete and fully self-actualized person, an Alpha Asian. We're all striving to be this ideal.
I started the blog to showcase Asians and Asian Americans who are creating and sharing joy and humor. I wanted to "compile" some positive energy to balance all the negative.
and yeah besides, the 5 elements concept sounds cool!
