Not sure if this was posted, but Charles Wang, billionaire and majority-owner of the NHL's New York Islanders, started Project Hope, a program designed to bring hockey to Chinese youth.

.... I just wish Asian-American billionaires like Mr. Wang would put their ample financial resources into creating an Asian-American or at least "Asian-American" (as in building a bridge between Asia and America - with a PRO Asian-American (as in us American-born or naturalized Asians) agenda) media company or foundation.

Why aren't more rich Asian Americans doing stuff like this?

One thing I've noticed though is that the uber-rich oftentimes have trouble relating to normal people. A few rich Asian Americans had this big "leadership" conference last year, and from what I heard, it was a flop, despite having quite a few rich celebrities and leaders who had been hired to speak. How do you pour thousands of dollars into a huge event like that and flop? It was actually quite amazing to me.

So some of these rich guys actually are trying to do something, but in balancing politics as well as lacking a strong mission, they often fall short, despite whatever financial resources they have. I think change may take place when we take a movement created by regular people and back it up with the resources...
