Interesting. One could view it purely as a scientific report, or yet another insituation that people of color are less than whole or normal, when compared to a Caucasian standard (for example the 'Asian flush' and the whole lack-of-enzyme' thing).

Amongst certain conspiracy theorists, they take this as evidence
that AIDS was designed as a biological weapon to target blacks.

I have always thought the Asian flush was a good thing as it helps deter you from excessive drinking and damaging your body with toxins. It's nature's defense mechanism that only Super Asians possess. :D

Lol not all Asians get the glow. I'm Korean and I don't get it.

And the article is really interesting. I always thought that all people were 100% susceptible to HIV as the human body has no defenses towards it at all. So I always thought that everyone exposed to it would succumb to it.

haha I always called it "Asian glow," and I don't get it either. I can be totally gone and I'll still look normal. Now, I'm not sure if that's a GOOD thing or not.

Yeah, I worry that it's some sign that something must be wrong with us. I don't even get red when I'm working out really hard.

Lol I always attributed my Asian glow resistance to my family's history of being great drinkers..Koreans like to drink after all.

The glow is good. It helps prevent beer bellies.

I thought all fighting 44s, especially the blackbelts were Super Asians. I am so disenchanted now. My belief system has been shaken to the core. :(

Not having the Asian flush was good for me at least in Japan. Sorta.

Coworker #1: "He isn't even drunk yet! "
Coworker #2: "BUY HIM ANOTHER DRINK!"
Me: "YEAH!"

(5-7 shots later)

Coworker #1: "He's still not red."
Me: "..."
Coworker #2: "He's still breathing, right?"
