Song KangHo and the director from A Bittersweet Life? AWESOME!

Man, I am so out of the loop on the korean movies lately. I wonder what else I've missed...

Yeah, I really liked "A Bittersweet Life". Lee Byung-Hun was pretty badass, so it's cool to see him in this new flick.

On a related Asian-Western fusion note - I saw Takashi Miike's Sukiyaki Western Django (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukiyaki_Western_Django), and it was a fun movie, but I wish it could have been better. The decision to have all the actors speak English instead of Japanese was kind of weird.

I'm afraid you haven't missed much lately. But Song Kang Ho is indeed awesome.

I was actually ambivalent about "Bittersweet". Plus it felt kinda weird seeing Korean gangsters actually using firearms to kill each other in lieu of the old standby the sashimi knife.

Kimchi western, sukiyaki western, spaghetti western...ultimately they are all in debt to Akira Kurosawa.
