Amazing, the comments are actually disapproving of the "hot asian chick" doing "comedy". For once.

Ouch. That was painful to watch. I felt for both her and the audience who had to sit through that.

Damn, you just knew it would be bad the moment she walked on-stage... well I guess her timing isn't that bad, but her jokes are awful. Margaret Cho, she is not (although she kinda looks like a skinny version of her).

Wow, she's awesome.
I like the part when she said Asian women are out of Asian men's league. So funny, yet so true.

Why does she speak like a retarded five year old? Seriously. This is what she sounds like to me: "Like, um, I'm hot because I'm wearing pigtails, right? My retardation is too hot for Asian men! Only white and black men deserve to date a juvenile asshole like me and my friends!"

Haha, it's like we're writing a guide for Asian chicks who want to date white men.
1) Sound like a retarded baby.
2) Look like a retarded baby.
3) But above all, live up to the stereotype of being a whore. So really, remember that you're appealing to pedophiles.

Community self-flagellation.
And as other people have said before about things like - it's more sad evidence of how much self-hate has infected our community. It's painful to watch this girl, her utter desperation to please the crowd and make it laugh - even at the price of racist jokes and tired stereotypes of herself and her people.

She acknowledges that all men have an asian fetish except gay men. This is not true. Gay men obviously can have an asian fetish. but I think she just being stupid with that part. Also she's wrong about another thing. Although asians can have an asian fetish (especially the whitewashed kind), many do not.
But still she revealed what we all knew, Asian fetish is everywhere.

Whoa, absolutely horrible. Her voice, her style...I saw those sell-out, self-hating and frankly unoriginal quips coming, especially about Asian males. What annoyed me even more were the cuts to other Asian women in the audience laughing and pandering to her insulting her own race.

I just became aware of this comedienne and I'm surprised her performance got no mention on Angry Asian Man, Disgrasian, or even Racialicious.
What makes me queasy is that it's possible for her to succeed with that self-hating shit of hers. America loves it some Asian pussy. Loves it!

I find it funny how many commenters there seem to be supportive of Esther's routine.

I couldn't watch the entirety of it, I was cringing during the whole ordeal. I got up to that line where she said that Asian men weren't good enough to date her and that was it. I can see how it could possibly be construed as some attempt to skewer stereotypes about Asian men, but it is far more likely in my opinion that she is attempting to get cheap laughs at the expense of Asian men yet again. Regardless, what is the most likely way a non-Asian male audience will interpret it? To me, this borders on hate speech or something very close to it.

It's all fun and games until *you're* the one getting the short end of the stick. This is why I don't trust these "anti-racists" any more than normal people who are ignorant of their racism. They use the anti-racist scene to see how much they can profit for their own demographic.

i don't think she's funny, but if she becomes successful I understand why. she's an attractive, young, asian woman that does 'offensive' jokes. sometimes you don't have to be really good at something to have it as a successful career.
personally, if you're a comedian, i expect you to be funny. i don't like the fact that skills these days are being undermined just so they can put a pretty face on the t.v. screen. and that's what esther represents to me.

It is ironic that this comedienne's name is Esther.
For anyone who is familiar with the OT, Esther (also known as Hadassah) was a beautiful queen during 4th century BCE Persian Empire. She was also a Jew. She was discovered during a royal decree to search the Empire for beautiful women to become part of the king's harem. If you consider America to be a modern-day empire, the personal story of Esther is symbolically metaphorical to the privilege and favor that Asian women enjoy in America today. But the analogy ends when you consider that the bibical Esther used her position of privilege, at the risk of her own life, to deliver her people during a time of persecution. The real Esther, a woman of strength and courage, was most definitely not a sell-out.
