"This past weekend I was elected as an Obama delegate in 9th Congressional District (WA) to the National Democratic Convention, to be held in Denver, CO in August. I had previously won elections at my local precinct and county levels, and have now successfully won a national delegate seat.
It will be a great honor to represent the Muslim community and Washington State at the Democratic National Convention in August. Some people in the local party have already suggested that perhaps I may get an opportunity to speak at the National Convention. In any case, it is sure to be exciting and historical.
I will also have to attend the Washington State Democratic Convention held in Spokane, WA this coming June. I will again be representing the Muslim community, as well as the 9th congressional district- WA. This is another honor."
