I found this link from angryasianman.com site. I think the song sucks and she is trying to make fun of the asian female stereotypes but I don't know. I mean she could of done a better job.

If you go to the Youtube clip she makes her response to Angryasianman. On Angryasianman he pretty much thinks the video and the song is awful.

I just like to see how others think. Personal I think the songs sucks and the video could of been better.

After watching it a couple of times and reading her lyrics and her statement to AngryAsianman.

I think I know what she is trying to do but I don't know. She is making fun of the stereotypes and obviously her response to angryasianman is a statement that non-asian or asian men have no ownership on asian women. Which is fine.

She obviously playing up to the stereotypes in the video and some of her lyrics can be all right but I don't know. Something I'm not seeing.

Her response was bullshit. Took the tact that angryasianman was insecure about her with white guys and therefore it was the right thing to do, even though he didn't mention anything about white guys.

Personally, I think the song sucks crap.

Anyone have the patience of going through her other videos to see if she took the opportunity to cast any Asian guys at all?

It looks like she was 'attempting' to make fun of the stereotypes of Asian women. Then again, in attempting to do so, she fails for both the Asian and non-Asian audiences.

The non-Asian audiences don't understand the irony, and just see an Asian whore flirting with whites.

The Asian audience does not see how she overcomes the stereotypes in the video...for she never breaks out of it...portraying her embracing the stereotypes

That's what I was thinking.

She's accusing Phil Yu and the website of being insecure and she has no idea what the website is all about. That fact that she doesn't know just proves that she, in fact, is the one that's out of the loop.

Also, I find Asian women who jump on the bandwagon of blaming insecure Asian men for all their woes is exactly the same as when whites poopoo the concerns of racism with condescending remarks like "Oh, you're just being too sensitive."

Where did she post this response? On her MySpace so all her bobblehead yes-men can agree with her?

What's ironic is that he's actually standing up for Asian American women and how this video will convey the wrong message to non-Asians. She then runs with this valid criticism as "because he's insecure because she's a strong Asian women and Asian men are insecure."

Apologies, I totally missed that response. That is some funny stuff. At first I was wondering if she really wrote it. I think she did. Wow.

IN RESPONSE TO ANGRYASIANMAN
AND OTHER ANGRY ASIAN MEN:

Notice that she immediately takes aim at Asian men. I'm sure we aren't the only ones who criticize it, but with the usual Kingstonian flair, we take the blame before the trial begins. It's like, "We deal with racism...so let's fight racism by destroying Asian men!"

Dear AngryAsianMan,

I have to strongly object to your assessment of my video. For you not to see how I have subverted every Asian stereotype I could get my hands on in a comical non-threatening way, you must have blinders on. Rather than see an Asian woman as having stepped outside the box we've been programmed for, you prefer to see her as missing the bulls-eye by a mile, which makes me think that indeed I did hit the bulls-eye, along with a nerve. Honestly -- were you a little threatened by all this? Did you not like my character in the video flirting with the white boys? This is so hilarious to me because if Asian men like you could for one second look past your own insecurities of believing that these stereotypes could actually be true, you'd realize that I'm making fun of all of it. These stereotypes are so ridiculous, and that's why it's funny. It's so blatantly obvious.

Yup, we're the insecure ones.

The one thing I would really disagree with is that her video is funny. That video was about as funny as a Margaret Cho routine, which basically puts it in the same category as getting a root canal.

Now, if you don't like the song for its musical qualities, then you are of course entitled to your opinion.

I personally thought the music sucked.

But what I AM disappointed with is that you have a voice and platform in the Asian American community, and you're not using it to encourage social progression. By you missing the whole point of the video, you are just another reminder of why Asian stereotypes still exist. They exist because people like you harbor anger and won't let them go. Be above it.

Haha...yup, stereotypes exist because of people like angryasianman. Talk about attacking the wrong target.

Asian women like me have a lot of strong feelings about our role in society, both in the Asian and American mainstream. We are bold, intelligent, sexy, and strong. And yes, we KNOW people want our "fortune cookies." HA! It's funny. We're not going to give it up at a drop of a dime to guys like you or even the next white guy (or black guy or any other guy). Yes I said it. And it's high time someone spoke or sang about it. That's precisely what I've done.

Natalise - NewAsianWoman

What's ironic about this is that angryasianman never brought up wanting Natalise to "give it up at a drop of a dime." He never said nor implied anything about himself or white guys or black guys (he doesn't even mention himself or them) trying to get with her, and yet she brings up her own dialogue about her sexuality as it might apply to men of different races.

By the way, she changed the verbiage of her argument since this morning. In the morning version, she asked him for some space for her side of the argument on her blog, and she challenged him to a debate on YouTube.

The interesting part of this whole debate is that there is no way Angry would ever be able to beat her in a Youtube debate without an intense focus on organizing the troops to create a proper presentation. In a debate, Nat would just use the "you don't own me" and "you're impeding progress" Kingstonian strategy, and Angry would be toast. That would be the end of his career, website, and livelihood. It's sad how deeply orientalism extends in our culture, but perhaps that's a challenge for the rest of us.

Five minutes of my life. Wasted. Gone. Erased. Never to be regained.

You actually watched all of it?

I couldn't bear the first 10 seconds so skimmed.

Seriously, I really disagree with the sentiment to some that we need 'communication' with banana AF. We communicate to this girl, and she comes out defensive, acting like she's a victim of 'angry insecure Asian men'.

The best thing we can do for trash like this is disown them from the community. Let white men toss them around like rag dolls if they want. They're trash anyways.

I agree. A 'debate' is a no win situation. In a debate, both sides have to use logic and sound reasoning.

As you said, she would use 'Kingstonian' tactics, and accuse Asian men of 'trying to control' her.

You cannot debate with trash. All you can do is point it out, and scorn upon it.

D: I feel so old, do I have the energy to do the whole, "Someone is WRONG on the Internets! I MUST REMEDY THIS FUCKERY." schtick again?

But I already know what'll happen. I'll call out Natalise on her fake motherfucking Kingstonian/Tan feminism and the responses will be as follows

Type 1: I must be an Asian man parading around as an Asian woman because god fucking forbid an Asian woman calls out some tacky-ass wench on shit she's done wrong. (i.e. "UR DOING IT WRONG; STOP FAILING AT LIFE PLS KTHNX.")

Type 2: I am accused of being brainwashed by Asian patriarchial values and anti-feminist or whatever such nonsense they bent over and picked out of their ass. Because ohhhhhhhhh no, I don't buy into that Tan/Kingstonian feminism.

Type 3: I'm questioned on any "loyalty" to being Asian or a feminist because they want to prove how their shit is correct and my shit is wrong. (i.e. "BOOHOO, LET ME VALIDATE MYSELF THROUGH YOU!")

Type 4: I'll be consequently ignored when I make post after post that quite neatly shoots down and maims with extreme prejudice all their bullshit on how supposedly Asian men are just being bitter, that omg! Azn wymyn have it bad too! (Nevermind we [Asian women] BENEFIT from our stereotypes despite how fucked up they are while Asian men get fucking OWNED up their ass from their stereotypes.)

Type 5: My shit will be quoted after all these butthurt Azn wymyn AmyTan-feminists rip up my beautiful, delicate knowledge and use it to blindly and amateurishly sodomize some poor sap with a weaker grip on logic than they have.

And then I'll have to be all "... LOLZ W/E."

imagine if i turned every debate into an issue of "ur just mad cuz i wont fuck u"
of course this would be kind of absurd since i am male. but its astonishing to me how many people feel comfortable just throwing that into a debate at any time, not even knowing anything about the other person's sexual preferences or status or anything. but i guess if the dude was gay then she could always come back with "oh well ur just a hater cuz u wish u were me."
i guess it comes up a lot because the dating/marriage disparity issue is so big in AA political topics. we need a good way to express to these people that AA issues go much further and wider than the disparity issue and that stereotypes/negative portrayals play a role in those as well.

^What's funny is that by putting all those white guys in her videos and talking about IR, she basically acknowledges that it IS a problem. Why else would she include it along with all the other stuff like the bad drivng and the accents if it's not a negative thing?

So how the hell can she turn around and use that against Phil Yu and Angry Asian Men? She needs to make up her damn mind. You guys know what I'm talking about right? She draws attention to the IR disparity and then mocks Asian guys because they acknowledge the same thing. What a talentless, hypocritic, hack.

Phil Yu's work on AngryAsianMan > anything ever made by Natalise

Sorry to say, but I managed to dig up an MP3 of her music in my iTunes library. I found I had given her song no stars... haha. ("Love Goes On")

I think the real issue is not that Natalise is all about subverting stereotypes or advocating for social change... she's pissed off that AAM called her on her crappy-ass music video that panders to the racist elements in our society. She's afraid that AAM's influence will demolish the tiny fraction of fame she possesses, which of course comes from the fact that Asian Americans are willing to support Asian American female wannabe R&B artists... even artists who have made mediocre songs like Natalise.

The only way she could salvage the situation is to apologize and pull the video, but I don't think that's going to happen. She's going to fade to obscurity as fast as it takes me to delete her crappy song from my MP3 library.

I disagree. AngryAsianMan seems intelligent, and anyone familiar with debate would realize that random ad hominem doesn't win an argument. Also, most of AAM's supporters probably do not want to see crap like that video, so I doubt his career and website would be ended.

This is one debate that I'd love to see.

Edit: Except then we'd be popularizing her video... /sigh

One of these days, we should arrange a debate of some sort. Maybe we could square off a Kingstonian with a 44. Or a Hillary supporter against an Obama supporter. I love watching this kind of thing...

Natalise is a real bitch. Her real name is Robin. My friends actually know her. They think her behavior is disgusting too.

She made up fake Youtube accounts and wrote comments saying how great she is and other bullshit saying asian men are insecure and losers.

I called her out on it and she deleted my comments of course!!! I would bash her more on her video but i refuse to help her get famous.

On her Mysapce page, all her white boy friends tell her it is not racist and how they love the video and how hot she is. They tell her they love hanging out with her etc etc.

SHe is a disgrace. SHe was on MTV "NEXT" dating show and there were five white men for her to choooes from and she chose one and mentioned how hot he was when he was quite ugly.

She is the worst most disgusting piece of crap htere is. I told her so too and told her I am too proud and tooo strong to let her make fun of my Asian people like that.
