Don't know if anyone saw this:

I heard this nonsense flipping through the AM dial yesterday. It's the Vice President making all kinds of jokes at the Annual Radio Television Correspondents dinner. You can see the actual footage here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfkuPIbkXNc&feature=related

Cheney says, "But lately, with every passing day, the evidence has been catching my attention. I have no doubt, none at all, that we are in the midst of a global warming...or as I prefer to call it, "Spring"."

This is some scary stuff, especially given the fact that the people who are laughing at the joke are powerful people in government and media. If you look at the beginning of the clip, you can see our favorite Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao (http://disgrasian.blogspot.com/2008/03/no-cause-for-celebrasian.html) cracking up.

I'm speechless. Global warming is causing weather-related calamities all over the world, and for an administration that has given the finger to the Kyoto Protocol and done just about nothing to curb the emissions of greenhouse gases to joke about it, it's an insult to all the young people who will inhabit the damaged world that the Bush administration has left us. Dubya pulled the same nonsense when he once used an address to joke about weapons of mass destruction. To screw up and to mislead the American people is one thing. To joke about it afterwards is another. It's an outrage.
