hey all,

I have a request to all of our membership.

In order to drive more traffic to our site and increase our authority in the APIA blogosphere, i'm asking you all to help out by signing up with Digg and Technorati.

For Technorati, it would be great if you could "favourite" our site. On the blog-side of the 44s, there is a small button on the bottom of the righthand sidebar which allows you to favourite us.

For Digg, things may be a little more involved, but well worth it. If there are articles that you've read and you really like, please digg them. There is a brand new "Digg" button at the bottom of each article.

Dialectic, Jaehwan, Ellencho, BlocktheBox, Jadedragon and I all feel that what we have here is the best site in the APIA blog arena. We're highly intelligent, witty, and our content is fresh and second-to-none. Not to mention, our membership consists of the brightest people around.

Thanks for your support. If you've done any of the above with Technorati/Digg, please make a post to this thread so that i know. Thanks again!

Done!

Some poser already took jaehwan as a Digg username, so I had to do jaehwan123.

But I'm in, ready to Digg my favorite articles.

Thanks, guys. Your efforts alone have bumped our rank on Technorati by 40,000! Keep on favouriting us, and keep on digging those great articles on our blog! Thanks also to "Numberneal" for your help! :)

Digg just confused me because on the first article I could just digg it, but for one of yours it asked me to write something and I'm too braindead to do a proper write up at the moment.

yeah, that's the part of Digg that's a pain in the ass. If you're the first to "digg", then you have to do the write-up/ summary for that webpage so that others understand what you're digging.

But keep it up, guys! The more we digg, the more exposure we get, and the more people we bring to the site -- which means more people reading your wonderful writing!

Just write: "The most brilliant article I've ever read. A heartbreaking work of genius that moved me to tears."

It wasn't the feminism article, was it? :)

I hope you guys are appreciating the sacrifice that I'm making for you.

Actually, if you can, you should include "Asian American", "blog", "Fighting 44s", and other general tag terms in the description so that it can be searched using Digg's crappy search function.

this opens up a whole new world...
When digg looks for duplicates, they find the weirdest things like Paris Hilton and such with Vincent Chin. Perhaps she slept with Vincent at some point, though I don't think she was even born when he was killed. Sigh.

I wanna take the opportunity here to call out all of our 44s lurkers. You may not have registered with our site, but now's your time to shine! Now's your time to help us out and digg us. We know you're out there! At any given time there's 20-30 of you just guesting and lurking! :)

We don't have enough trolls yet! KEEP DIGGING, boys and girls!! Pick your favourite pieces, whatever springs to mind from the last couple years that you thought was pretty cool, and DIGG THAT SHIT!! (Technocrati favouriting would be nice too.)

If we get more cool people, dealing with trolls will be just a minor inconvenience. Digg!

DIGG my Harold and Kumar article up front, baby! Xian started some good discussion in the comments section. He's totally wrong, of course, but that's nothing new.
