Ford is finally a bringing a small car to the US (think Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris). They called the concept the Verve, but now they've announced that the actual car is going to be called the Fiesta. What do you guys think of the name?

it looks nice, but the beancounters here in the US...will some how fidn a way to screw it up,

Is this a totally new car or a redesign? Ford has been selling a car named Fiesta for decades, though only briefly in the US.

Americans aren't going to take too kindly to anything hinting at Latin America at this time.

This is a new generation Fiesta, but it's a whole new car for the US since Ford hasn't sold a Fiesta since 1980.

Verve. Fiesta sounds like mexican food. Like fiesta burrito or somesuch taco bell.

isnt there a 90's fiesta that geo metro type car? I think Jay Leno has one with an SHO motor

That was the festiva, a rebadged kia which was later sold as a ford aspire.
