I'm still tinkering with my idea of a small luncheon place set up in the various Asian community enclaves around the state but something crossed my mind as I was pondering what my dessert menu'd be like.
"Asian style" cheesecake. That is to say, infusing flavors like ube or langka or green tea or chai or whatever into a simple cheesecake. Nothing fancier than that though, just regular in that there's an extra flavor.
I'm pretty sure that this idea has been thought of and implemented already, a few friends have mentioned eating a chai and green tea cheesecake but, what I'm wondering now is exactly how widespread is this new twist on cheesecake?
And if those who have come across it, how was it?

We had green tea cheesecake at the restaurant I used to work at. We drizzled a raspberry (I think?) sauce over it and it was AWESOME. I loved it.

I made a chai tart a while back. I think it might be somewhere in the food porn section. Cheesecakes might be more difficult to infuse with chai flavor, but since you can buy matcha it's easy to make green tea flavored anything. I bet you could even get away with a red bean cheesecake.
If you were going to do something chai or pandan flavored, definitely go with a pastry cream because you can infuse the milk beforehand with the flavor and then strain it out before you make your pastry cream.
Also, definitely look into making asiany flavored ice creams. Those are pretty easy.

I was but... I was leaning more into yogurt or gelato because I'm a terrible, terrible bitch to trends. Nevermind I like yogurt (when done by someone other than Dairy Queen) and gelato a bit better over ice cream.
I can't believe I forgot pandan, I love that. But for things like azuki, I think I'd use it for things like New Years or whatever else appropriate holiday. Trouble is, seems like my idea already got implemented by this dude:

Last thing I want is a Red Mango vs. Pinkberry fight.
EDIT: Also, I think what you posted in the food porn thread was some green tea/white chocolate gelato.

Definitely go in the gelato/frozen yogurt direction, because that way you'll sell more because you can say it's healthier than ice cream :)
Let me see if I can't find the pic of the chai tart, it's from a long while ago. LIke a year or so.
