OMG, tap that sheet!

Lately I've been getting into German wines, Spatlese, Rieslings . But the last couple days I've been doing beer. Mostly the light stuff because of the reduced calories and carbs. I've been trying out those mini kegs. I had my doubts in the beginning, but after trying the Heineken Draught keg, I'm convinced. I've been tapping that all day yesterday and it's still going fresh. No more empty bottles or cans all over the place. Nice and clean in the fridge.
So what's your usual poison.

oh yeah, check this out. Some good cheap beer they sell at trader joes this time of year. Perfect for the college budget. I can't remember the price, but it comes out to be cheaper than water.

yeah yeah, laying amongst more light beer, but with the volume I drink I gotto watch the weight.

awesome thread.
i've been meaning to try out that heinekeg since i saw that daft punk commercial for it. it's that good, huh?
i'm a rolling rock fan.
http://www.abwholesaler.com/WWSImages/ReadyToUse/RollingRock/RollingRock.jpg
...for 4.99, i think it's the best cheap domestic beer available.
also, LOVE the guinness.
...for parties, budweiser works pretty well.
oh, and one of the greatest i've ever tried, but remains underestimated, is 312 by goose island.
http://www.ratebeer.com/beerimages/full_size/30913.jpg
it's a great great medium bodied beer.
...if i'm going out, i'll usually do some rolling rock, a gin and tonic (my favorite mixed drink) and a jaeger shot

yeah the keg is pretty good, I usually avoid the Heinekens because it's always a gamble between getting a fresh one or a skunker. But the keg I assume keeps it fresh.
I got to try 312, never had one, but a gin or vodka tonic is a usual poison for me too.

I was going to post a bunch of pics, but anyone with a slow connection is going to be suffering through this thread enough as it is.
As mentioned elsewhere, Guinness, but only from the tap. I started drinking Bass when I began to figure out that some beers tasted better than others, which is also when I stopped drinking 40 ounces of Old E. My Shandongnese heritage demands that I drink Tsingtao. It goes perfect with dinner and spicy dishes.
This stuff is pretty good, too:

For liquor I like Johnny Walker blue, but that shit is expensive. After that I don't get too picky, as long as it's not gin or any of that cheap nasty shit that makes you sick.

At one bar, I usually go for Guiness on tap. Another bar, with some bartenders I get Saison Dupont on tap. With other bartenders at the same bar, it is whatever Weissbeer on tap. At beer gardens, it is usually something like Hacker Pshorr, Dortmunder or Erdinger. If I have to go bottle or can, then I try for Singha, Sapporo, or Kirin. If the place only has bottles or cans of American beer, I get a glass of wine. I don't like to drink hard liquor at bars because I can't stomach the markup, but when I do I get Kettle, Johnny Black or Jameson neat with a water back.
At home I drink Singha, Sapporo, Kirin, Chimay, Corsendonck and Duvel. Hard liquor is single malt scotch, my favourite would be Lagavulin, though Edradour is up there and I like a good Laphroig every now and again. Bourbon would be Pappy Van Winkle or Jefferson Reserve. For Sake, I get Gekkeikan, Wakatake Onikoroshi and actually the Trader Joes Sake is great for the money. My favourite white wine is Gavi de Gavi La Solce black label. For red I usually get Coppla's reds, they are pretty good quality for the money at Trader Joes.
Not that I drink a lot or anything...

st. ides..hahaha
i haven't had that since i was..umm, not legal to drink. we used to smash those special brews they put out, though the only place we could buy and find them were at those ghetto corner stores. i remember i used to burn cd's for the dude that owned the place and he'd hook us up with a case of natty light.
those were the days....

minbo i didnt realize that you liked beer so much. saison is one of my fav styles because its dry and strong usually with good yeast flavors. there is that one brewery up there called ommegang which makes a saison but i havent tried it. some of the west coast breweries can be pretty good.
recently tried my firsts gueuze (lindemans) and all i could taste was sour.
not a scotch drinker, prefer irish like powers, redbreast, michael collins. with vodka there is a polish one called luksosowa which is mid-range in price but has the best flavor IMO and can be enjoyed neat.

i'm not a big beer fan. it mostly all tastes the same to me, but one time i had some lemon beer that was good.
i like fruity sweet drinks like:
cassis soda (!!!)
pina colada
kaluha milk
umeshu soda
long island ice tea
for the more "hardcore" drinks i like:
umeshu
red wine
i can drink soju, shochu, and other rubbing alcohol tasting sake, but yeah...the taste.

I've actually been looking for someone who knows their grapes, because I always buy the same bottle of wine: Woodbridge '05 merlot. It's really everything I like in the $16 range, but I'm starting to feel rather predictable. I also like Lindeman's but then things start to get a little pricey. The clerks have been useless as none of them seem to have graduated from Boone's Farm community college. Help, anyone?

The best drink I've ever had so far was chocolate-flavoured vodka. I don't drink much at all, only on special occasions, so I'm a very frou-frou girly drinker. Margaritas are good too, but tequila is awesome during crazy parties.

Yum, chocolate-flavored vodka sounds good. My favorite drinks fall into two categories: (1) bubbly and sweet like bellinis (champagne and peach nectar) or Lindemans Framboise (rasberry beer) or (2) savory like bloody marys and dirty vodka martinis.
Oh, also jack and ginger on account of the fact that a friend of mine once tried to kill me by feeding me undercooked pork sausage. Right when I was about to pass out and have them call 911, someone poured jack and ginger down my throat. After that I felt really good, so yeah, jack and ginger for its ability to fight off trichinosis.

Lindemans Framboise (rasberry beer)
I don't know how that even remotely qualifies as beer, that stuff tastes like koolaid and won't get you drunk.

I've never tried Lindeman Frmaboise, but I would imagine that it is similar to Lambec Framboise. They have their place, but I don't normally drink them. I used to, along with hard cider, but they all are in the desert wine category for me.
I had a conversation with a friend about "if you were on a date, is there any drink that they can order that would rule them out from any further dating".
For me it was if they order Goldschlager or Jaeger shots.
Another conversation I had with my friend was what was a girly drink. My definition was
1) Anything that is served with a paper umbrella or plastic saber
2) Drinks that have 4 or more ingredients not counting ice or water, with some exceptions like a Bloody Mary.
I've had Ommegang in bottles. It's pretty good, but I don't know many places that carry it...

Yes, I think it's Lindemans Framboise Lambic. It is sort of cloying, but way better than Koolaid!

its considered beer because its mainly made from fermented grain. the sourness comes from wild bacteria. thats why most anything with "lambic" in the name is kind of high dollar, for beer anyways.
if i were a bartender i would put little umbrellas in dudes drinks just to fuck with them. scotch on the rocks? have a little parasol with that.
when i see a girl drinking straight whiskey i think she probably has tattoos and her house is probably full of cats and cigarette smoke.

I have neither tattoos nor cats and I don't smoke. Come to think of it, I don't have a house, either. But I do drink the straight whiskey.

Please allow the 2 buck chuck to breathe before consumption.
I hardly ever drink, if I do, it is beer or a martini of some sort. Vodka tonic works too.

Vodka, straight up.
Grey Goose is my favorite but I'm not rich so I usually buy Smirnoff (I like the flavored ones: vanilla and raspberry are both very good).
I also like rum and coke, especially when it's cold outside.
I used to enjoy sake, until I had a very bad experience involving several consecutive sake bombs.
Since said experience I've been sticking mostly to cocktails. When I was living in Vancouver I had something called a Hello Kitty at a Japanese restaurant- very fruity and tasty. :)
1 1/2 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz CalpisŪ soda syrup
1 1/2 oz strawberry puree
2 oz soda water

hehehe....super refined eh? that's the result of my inability to chug beer ( no chugging nice oberon or hacker schorr...gotta take time to enjoy that!) and my lameness at taking shots...(sip the wine savor the flavors delight in the bouquet...no need to throw it back all at once!) very few wateringholes can mess up a gin n tonic so that's always a choice when the bartenders' skills are questionable.
besides all that...it tastes damn good.
whiskey i haven't had yet actually...i want to try bourbon tho...but have no idea whats a good one to try.
