Anyway there’s a restaurant in Tokyo that has created the ultimate ramen + desert in one package. Looks simple enough. Take some ramen, add some ice cream, and then eat as much as you can before puking. Nice! You can hit up this dish at a local ramen shop called “Kikuya” by taking a 15 minute walk north Kitasenjyu Station in Tokyo. If you want ramen it up and need to find Kikuya ASAP then memorize the name and these characters: 菊や To help you get lost I’ll include a map of Kitasenjyu Station (http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid=navclient&hl=ja&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4SKPB_jaUS214US216&q=%E5%8C%97%E5%8D%83%E4%BD%8F&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wl) and I think this is a map showing where Kikuya (菊や) is located (http://www.mapfan.com/m.cgi?MAP=E139.48.13.2N35.45.13.1&ZM=8).

That flavors can you expect? Vanilla Ice Cream Ramen, Chocolate Ramen, and every bodies favorite… Green Tea Ramen (LIKE WHOA!) Something to remember is that ice cream ramen could be a limtied summer time edition this year (like I heard it was last year) and if you show up too late in the season you might end up with some Coffee Ramen (a.k.a. kohii gyunyu ramen). Other items on the menu include white ramen (yogurt), red ramen (tomato), natto ramen, milk ramen, hot cocoa ramen, pork kimchi ramen, and other crazy combinations. Regular ramen is 500 Yen but if you choose that option I’m sure people will look at you funny.
Here’s a review (http://gourmet.yahoo.co.jp/0001069959/0003095477/ktop/) if you can read Japanese (a friend gave me the link). I found out about this restaurant from this blog (http://ramentheater.com/walk/kikuya_kitasenju.html) (it’s in Japanese too, which I cannot read). He seems to only visit strange restaurants so check it out. The pictures above are from his blog and ramen experience.

Has anyone tried this? I wouldn't think that the flavors of ice cream and noodles would mesh very well. It kind of reminds me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with their crazy-ass pizzas.

That is just so disrespectful to the institution of ramen and to the institution of soft serve ice cream.

thats crazy but you never know what is going to be the next big hit in food business. people are coming up with anything. eventually they will hit gold if they keep trying.
we won a competition in the 90s with a cayenne flavored ice cream. we weren't the first to do this certainly but afterwards we noticed some local places putting cayenne ice cream on their menus.

Kuya D's too old for that shit, but I'm not~ :D

The presentation doesn't look so good at first glance though. But I've eaten weird fucking combinations of food when I was young and even now.

Does the sweetness in the ice cream go that well with the savory ramen broth?

I wanna try that so much, but its not feasible to sneak in an ice cream cone into Hanaoka. So what I'll ask is if whether or not pho is in any way, even a little like ramen?

Since there's both a Dairy Queen and a Pho Express not even twenty steps away from each other at my local mall; if pho is sorta like ramen, I'll take pictures of me violating it with some combo cone.

^^^ Hahaha, you might as well just cook up a bowl of instant noodles and put a couple scoops of Ben & Jerry's in there.
