Orang-utan prefers blondes
Thu 4 Oct 2007, 15:58 GM AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Sibu the orang-utan has miffed his Dutch keepers by refusing to mate with females and showing sexual interest only in tattooed human blondes.
Apenheul Primate Park hoped Sibu would become its breeding male when he arrived two years ago, but orang-utans aren't his type.
"He chases them, or ignores them, but he doesn't do what he should do," said a spokeswoman for the park.

Instead, Sibu fancies his female keepers, especially blondes. That, the spokeswoman said, was common for orang-utans but Sibu has a fetish for tattoos, harking back to a heavily tattooed keeper who reared him.
"Orang-utans have special interests in special subjects. Sibu happens to like tattoos," she said.
The park hasn't given up on Sibu, 31. He showed an amorous interest in a female orang-utan while living in England and keepers hope he will find love when reunited with her in a new enclosure in Chester, England.

It's scary how psycho-sexual development can be influenced. :s

The biggest mistake made was that the zoo isolated this orangutan from other orangutans.
This orangutan obsession with humans reminds me of why I hate being overly nice to non-asians. I find that they usually attribute my kindness to my race and not to me as an individual and start developing an obsession for all thing asian. So another thing the zoo keepers did wrong is being overly nice to the orangutan. In the end the kindness ironically hurts the monkey more than it helps.
fortunately the orangutan isn't intelligent enough to speak and come up with some excuse to rationalize his obsession. Without that, people were able to figure out what drove his obsession.

...so rather than having them think you're a nice and social asian fellow, you'd rather have them going on believing asian men are cold, non-social, and resentful?

You mean theyre NOT??
Oh man my whole world is collapsing! I thought I knew! I better go ask my friend CHAD. Hes been to JAPAN he tells me he knows everything there is to know about ALL ASIAN PEOPLE. Since Ive got no associations with Asian PEOPLE... I should just trust non-Asians who know right?
He was saying that the guys all know karate, and the women are like sex goddesses... I better go ask him again to make sure!

So you've been unknowingly planting the seeds of Asiaphilia all along... what have you done to atone for this?

You know what? let them think what they want and the same goes with you. I don't give a fuck.

I really don't have any regrets about unwittingly spreading asiaphilia. Just regrets about wasting my time on these people. I have helped a few asian friends find their ethnic identity. it's a thankless thing to do though.
