It was friday night. I was with my date and I wanted to see this Korean film that was only playing at Cinema duplex( I think that's what it's called) . I read a article about this Korean film called "Time"(I write a separate thread about the movie itself) and it sound interesting and wanted to see it.
Anyway, the movie theater is located at 5 Av. on 12 street which borders near Union Square and St. Marks place. For those that live in NYC knows that that area is CCB infested.
But what surprise me was the yokojohn couples I saw in the movie theater. I think I was the only Asian guy there and we were the only Asian couple. This is a small theater but half the audience that showed up were YokoJohns. It was so bad even my date felt uncomfortable. She even mentioned why are they all with white guys.
Hahaha anyway I told her in this neck of the woods you going to see allot of it here but what I couldn't understand why did allot of them show up to see a Korean film.
My only guess is the film is consider artsy and well the artsy crowd is consider to be very liberal but only in the sense of being "white liberal" and for many YokoJohn crowd they tend to fit that profile.
