I'm helping a friend rebrand a restaurant, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with running one. In particular, i'm looking at sourcing new chairs, new tables and glassware. I'm also looking at printhouses that specialize in producing low-run menus. Does anyone have any contacts?

I have experience running a restaurant. You should buy most things used. It's not worth it to pay full price. Make sure to check out ebay, auctions and even craigslist. Also look for restaurant fire sales-- also heavily on craisglist.

I know of a place that does glossy flyers cheap, but they specialize in pizza places. www.pizzaispromotion.com. They also address them for you and to send for as little as 18 cents each. flyers should be a 1 to 5 cents each depending on how nice they are.

right now is not the best time to be running a restaurant as the prices of food and gas are skyrocketing however.

feel free to contact me by pm.

Thanks for the help! Yeah, the restaurant business is not doing as well as we'd hoped right now. The rising dollar and COGs are not helping at all.

I'll keep my eye out for firesales on craigslist. I'm guessing that given the state of the economy now, it shouldn't be too tough to find a restaurant going out of business... :(

Perhaps a call to one of my favorite chefs, gordon ramsay, for his show kitchen nightmares?
