Okay, what's the deal with these guys? At first, I thought it was kind of a joke/parody thing, but apparently Funky Buddha was killed in a drive-by. I've read that they really did work in a Chinese restaurant, and were hauled in by the cops for making some dude sick by pissing in his moo shoo because he was being a prick.
I figured that the whole gangster thing was a stage persona, but one of them getting shot makes me wonder.
I'm also digging their new tune, "Chinatown Hustler."

Yeah, I'm bummed funky buddha is no longer in the lineup. I'm not sure what the real story is, whether he quit, got kicked out, or what. The H-bomb is cool, but his character is not quite Iconic as the Buddha.

It's hard to tell what's parody and what's real, but yeah... they still kick ass IMO.

I saw them play on Chinese New Year's Eve and it was sweet. Wicked live show. And so fucking funny.
Scowl, so you're all Hong Kong Fever now?

Hunan Bomb is Japanese, too, isn't he? He should have a different name, then. Like Terror Yaki or something.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm a fan either way, but I still want to know.

Well, you have to admit that it's a kickass photo. I might have used Down-Lo Mein, but I'm not feeling the jerry curls.

I'm pretty sure Hunan Bomb is Korean.
The best way to look at them as how we might look at a band like KISS. They're personas, yeah, but the personas ARE real. They're awesome. Lopes and I have the shirts.

Oh and yeah I really liked Funky Buddha's delivery, not to mention his style. I enjoy H-Bomb as well, but it ain't the same.

In that case, he should be Pimp Kim Chee!!!
Korean makes much more sense than Japanese, anyway.

The Hypen Magazine article about them was weird. You can tell some of it was made up so there was nothing you could do but laugh.

They’re approach reminds me of the early Beastie Boys with a little Dj Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince mixed in.
Anyone else notice a slight Pinoy accent in D-Lo? I swear I have some suspicions about that.

Hong Kong Fever totally rules. Yeah, Downlomein's hairdo looks a little greasy. But it goes well with a wifebeater.
