ZOMG Mando-hipsters! Who knew?? I've been searching endlessly for a shred of hope that China may one day produce a cool band scene, meanwhile Taipei has been nurturing a lovely little pocket of shoegaze, punk, garage, alternative, twee pop, post rock, and yes even a little emo that actually captures the DIY spirit of underground music. And it all started when I found a collection of videos by a band called The Peppermints.

Lots more bands here (http://www.islandofsound.com/). I've already ordered a couple of discs but man some of it is hard to find. Anybody knows some more resources please give me a heads-up.
