Absolutely ridiculous. I fthe judge doesn't throw this out and order the Plaintiff to pay the defendant's court costs, it will be such a miscarriage of justice.

It is not funny for the people involved in it. Most lawsuit is about money. This guy is different except he also wants to ruin these people's lives. It is sad but plenty of people abuse the legal system in this country. Most people know the other side would settle because the legal cost to fight is far greater than judgment. Many of these people sue people by hiring attorneys on contingency and go after insurance companies etc. This happens all the time in San Francisco where tenants have more rights than landlords.
Either that or we need a system where people don't have to hire lawyers to defend themselves. Lawyer fee is what's driving half of these lawsuits. Either that or they need to make the loser pay for all the lawsuit fees. Unfortunately, any lawyer will tell you it is nearly impossible to prove a lawsuit frivolous. This is the reason the only type of attorney I like is the one working for you and civil attorneys. Attorneys did not get their reputation as scumbags for nothing.

The guy sounds like a complete prick. I can't believe he is using his law degree to belittle a couple of immigrants. They said they would refund him back but why is he pushing so hard? $67M? Does this mean next time If I take my car in for service and they did not do it properly I should sue them for $100M emotional distress? This is getting to be a joke.

Apparently he has a history of stretching out the litigation process for no particular reason (except perhaps to make more money for himself should the judge award him his legal fees from his "opponent" (<-- what's the right term here?))
From page 10 of his divorce document:
The trial court found that husband was substantially responsible for “excessive driving
up” of the legal costs by “threatening both wife and her lawyer with disbarment [sic],” and
creating unnecessary litigation. Consequently, it awarded wife $12,000 in legal fees to be paid
by husband.

What a prick! Lawyers in general are money-hungry pricks! The judge who's presidiing over this case is a stupid monkey cro-magnon idiot as well.

This guy is BLACK? What an embarrassment to the race. If I were going to choose to be proud of an African American achievement, I might without question choose to invest that pride in any Black lawyer in America solely based on their level of academic success in a social system so tilted against them. I find it disheartening to say the least that one of "our brighter" has managed to bungle things so badly that hell be called an idiot by peoples across the nation.
And theyll be right.

The way the law is set up is anyone can sue anyone else for any reason for any amount of money. If someone punches me tomorrow, I can probably sue him for emotional distress, personal injury and all kinds of other stuff. One of the strategy rich people use is to drive up the legal cost to force the other side to back down or settle. In this case, this guy is an attorney so he does not have to worry about legal costs while he can file motion after motion to drive up the legal cost of these two poor immigrants. I really really hope the court would award the defendants legal cost in this case should they win. It is such a blatant abuse of the legal system it is not even funny.

Because roy pearson is a jerk, and his black "entitlement" probably makes him think that non-blacks ought to "owe" them money.
I really want that punk to be disbarred from practicing law. Perhaps he can go back to his "school of hard knocks law school" to get his LLM degree! LOOOLLL!!! ;)
I plan to make some prank calls to his office tomorrow. Dead serious.

Im not familiar with this idea of "Black Entitlement", can you explain it to me?
Let me see if I can follow how the reasoning MIGHT go...
Whites enslave, imprison, and otherwise cause great harm to Blacks for generations. So, having been largely freed of this condition...generations later... KOREANS, which had nothing to do with it...OWE Black people reparations... is that how it works?

I didnt find it directly stated that HE was/is Black, but I inferred it here:
"Judge Pearson has been active in the Washington, DC community for decades and has served as counsel or board member for such organizations as the Columbia Heights Youth Club, the Fort Lincoln Civic Association, Inc., Black Seeds, Inc., the Washington Council of Lawyers, and the DC chapter of the National Council of Black Lawyers."

I highly doubt him being black has anything to do with it. The guy is just a vengeful jerk. If he spend all his effort screwing over the Chungs in something more productive, he would have probably have made more money.
It is obvious that he’s trying to screw them over and make them go bankrupted.
Now, he might also have prejudice against Asians. But given his past behavior with his wife, I think he’s just bastard with everyone, regardless of their race.

I'm certain that Jjampong can work this angle into any discussion. Global warming? Due to Black entitlement. Problems in Iraq? Damn black people and their entitlement. Inflation? Black people leeching off the system.
Combined with Satanic illegal immigrants, it would appear that those of us in the good 'ole US of A are in for some hard times. Preach on, Jjampong!

True, the judge's black skin color has nothing to do ith this case. However, his stinking attitude could stem from the way he was raised (i.e. in the ghettos). He probably had no father to raise him, and grew up in the ghettos where life is tough.
So now, roy pearson is trying to be mister "tough guy" and wants to send the Chung family's business into bankruptcy. You're right on the money dimeron.
Still, I view pearson as a piece of ghetto trash. I can't believe he wants that much money when he himself is making an above-average income.

okay tyrone, here goes my explanation.
blacks feel that Koreans and other Asian ethnic groups who are moving into black neighborhoods 'ought' to "owe" the black community money.
Blacks feel that Korean stores and other Asian stores (i.e. Vietnamese or Chinese owned stores) in black neighborhoods are "over charging" the black customers. Then there are instances where the black customers complain that they're being harrassed by the Korean or Asian store owner by being followed around. sometimes this is true, but many times, the black customer is trying to play the role of a "victim" to make the Korean or Asian store owners look guilty of racism and not knowing politically correctness while here in the US (Since many Asian countries, thank God, don't believe in PC philosophies).
So since the blacks feel that they're being "overcharge" and being harrassed, they feel that they can resort to terrorism and burn down Korean stores and other Asian enclaves, like they did during the 1992 L.A. terror attack.
And explain to me kuro, why jesse jack$on didn't even give a damn to apologize to the Korean community for the damages that they've done?
That guy is a complete clown to me. He only whines and gripes about blacks being victims. Heck, I even have black friends who don't like jesse jackson and disagree with that he has to say in public.

so Jjam... let me get this straight:
Youre suggesting that...because ghetto thugs with ghetto minds cannot get along with Korean immigrants on the West Coast... That a Black United States Judge... will look to exact over $60 million dollars worth of revenge from a Korean couple...that doesnt have the money??
Sorry brah, that theory is more ludicrous than the lawsuit itself!
I tell you what, Ill give you a do-over. Go back and rethink another less embarrassing explanation, and get back to me.
Oh, and um, thats KU-RO-YA-MA, not t-y-r-o-n-e. The spelling, if you look closely, is completely different. Its also pronounced differently. Perhaps you should consider one of those English schools you recommend for the US illegal immigrants?

Sure ty. What do you think? You think that black people are "saints" because they're always getting beaten up by white cops and try to look good in the media's eye by playing the race card when things don't go their way?
Although the media doesn't state that this lawsuit deals with "racial" issues, I'm pretty sure it DOES relate to racial tensions between hard-working Asian immigrants, VS black americans who dislike being displaced by immigrants. Hence you also have blacks in So Cal and Texas and Georgia hating on Mexican immigrants who "take their jobs". Well hello black community, you need to be more "active" and work.
Come on ty, if the judge was a white guy, I doubt he would have the opportunity to pull that kind of goofy lawsuit on the Korean businesses.
I have had many experiences with ghetto blacks and they DO hate Asians and Korean businesses in their "hood." This lawsuit is a way of black ghetto pigs trying to place a Korean business into bankruptcy.
Why do you think the Chung family offered to pay roy pearson $12000 to purchase him a brand new top-of-the-line coat along with an expense to send him to Korea to buy that clothes? The Chung family also offered to pay for pearson's room at a f-ing hotel and his food! And guess what? that ghetto pig rejected those offers!
Like I've said kuro, I've seen all this black mentality on driving out Asian businesses, and I won't pretend that this problem doesn't exist.
Sorry brah, that theory is more ludicrous than the lawsuit itself!
Brah, no act local cuz ...you're just one popolo on the mainland!
I tell you what, Ill give you a do-over. Go back and rethink another less embarrassing explanation, and get back to me.
Need not because roy pearson is a typical black ghetto prick with a " y'all non-noobs kiss my a$$" mentality that a lot of them DO have!
Oh, and um, thats KU-RO-YA-MA, not t-y-r-o-n-e.
