Attraction of a Different Kind

With all of the crowing here about relationships I decided to discuss a different type of AM social attractiveness, one that affects me. Although I'm laughing while I write, this is something that happens to me almost daily and I felt compelled to talk about it.

I attract gay men. A lot of them. All the time. All races and ages.

I'm perfectly confident and secure with myself, and I respect one's sexual orientation - this is not a gay bashing thread. However, I'm still trying to figure out why I attract gay men so consistently and so frequently.

Now I know that working in the Entertainment Industry is a huge part of this, but why me? My other AM friends don't experience this phenomenon ...

2 Examples:

This morning a WM smiled at me as I was walking past him. He growled at me while sporting the same look that a straight man would give to a hot young lady.

My AM friend called me shortly thereafter to rib me about this AM actor that approached me on Saturday night at a concert. I found out later that this actor is active with some LA gay & lesbian organizations and he must have thought that I was a potential piece of A for him.

This would be fucking awesome if I was gay, but I'm straight ...

My advice: you could use this greatly to your advantage. Be honest and don't lead them on or anything, but start hanging out a bit with a gay crowd. There will be women with them, hanging out with gay guys but keeping their eyes open for a straight guy, and there won't be much competition.

I've been hit on twice by gay guys in bookstores but I think it's because I was in a section not normally populated by straight guys, the home design and cooking sections.

It was because I recently got a new place and wanted to get some ideas of how I wanted to set up my rooms and I wanted to eat a healther menu. :P

As soon as they found out I was straight, they seemed to back off but one admitted that he was surprised I wasn't offended because almost all straight men that get hit on by gays usually are.

I think it was flattering at least since he was a really good looking guy.

Once, a friend of my friend asked if I had a sister. I responded: "No, why?" "Well, it's because you're an extremely cute guy and was wondering if you had a sister to hook up with."

That actually made me laugh.

I live near San Francisco so there are plenty of gay guys here. I got hit on a few times on the street but I sort of expect it if you hang out different areas in SF, especially in the Castro area. You do see men holding hands here in SF all the time. Some of the gyms I go to got mostly gay men. Some of the gay men are the biggest dudes out there. I have some friends who are gay and they are nice people. Couple of things:

1. Most gay men are pretty well educated. Therefore, they make more money on average.
2. Most gay men care WAY MORE about their looks than straight men.
3. Many gay men work out like crazy and are in great shape comparing to some straight men.
4. Many gay men have many girlfriends that are friends. Some of these friends are hot.
5. Many white gay men have Asian fetish too. I have been told this a few times by white gay men.
5. Some gay men have told me they find it hard to be friends with straight men cause they might fall in love and know it will go nowhere. A concept hard for me to swallow as a straight men.

Anyway, like Atlastien said, be friend with gay men and you get access to plenty of good looking girls. In addition, you can talk about girl problems with them too although I never have done that. Most gay men can also give you some great fashion tips.

Dude don't feel bad. I still remember when I was in Rio Brazil vacationing with my GF and we met a gay couple from the USA. There is a huge section of the beach in Rio dedicated to gay men so there are plenty of them everywhere. I still remember having conversation with these guys and then all suddenly, both of them would stop talking and turn their heads and stare at some guy walking by with their mouths open. These two are suppose to be boyfriends and they check out EVERY single men they like with the most obvious facial expressions. Now I am not great at hiding my expressions checking out hot girls and somehow I always get caught when I do by the girlfriend, but these guys make my expressions look amateur.

The point is if you want to get hit on by gay men, just go to any gay bar and they will be all over you if you are good looking. I heard they are into pretty boys and really beefy guys.

I got hit on by a true gay Asiaphile once. He zeroed in on me like nobody's business because I was just his type. Getting the whole fetish routine from a guy was funnier than shit though: I couldn't believe how persistent men can be when they're working their game. My sympathies to the ladies for putting up with us. We're actually friends now, but luckily he found himself an exotic brown-boy.

More recently this Native kid in my cab said I was hot and he offerred me a blowjob. Dude was like nineteen...what an ego boost! LOL.
