He is only 17 or 18 and he will be Chinese national team's starting PG. He is like 6 feet or 6'1" but the boy can handle and dish. He also got mad hops and can dunk easily.

Looks like a great prospect.

Here's a quick analysis.

Pros
--Damn quick breaking down the defense.
--Great ballhandling, floor vision, and touch on passes.
--Really athletic, dunking with two hands.
--Can finish at the rim.

Weakneses
--REALLY favors his right hand. Very little going left. And I didn't see a pass with his left hand.
--Decent range with spot-ups. But he needs some time to get in rhythm. Can he shoot efficiently off screens?
--If he enters the NBA, getting used to the physicality of dribbling into the paint.
--And with any foreign player, is he a defensive liability?

All-in-all, he is an intriguing prospect because of his speed and court vision.

Coach K of Duke was ready to offer him a scholarship after he saw him playing against the USA national team. The kid is good and he is the new generation of ballers out of China. With more kids playing, this can only mean more Asians in the NBA someday and that's a good thing.

Coach K liked him, and half-jokingly asked if Chen had the grades. The kid is talented, but as a young point guard, what he really needs now are good coaching and tough competition, both of which he won't find in China. He won't make it to the NBA if he continues doing what he is doing. I wish China would let him live in the U.S and play college ball.

^^Exactly. No matter how much you stand out in China, if you're not playing in the biggest league with the toughest competition it's very hard to tell where your level is. There are so many examples from every sport where predicted expectations of highly ranked players were never met, some not even close.

I would love for this guy and yi to get the chance to play in NBA like competition before hyping them up too much.
