I don't think any prank show can compare to this Mexican show called "Infarto" ("Heart Attack"). I saw a few episodes and it's just pure evil.

On the episode I saw, two guys go into a poker game. The guy being pranked's friend starts playing in a really flashy style. Then a card falls out of his sleeve. The rough-looking guys at the party drag him out back and you hear a gunshot. Then they come back for the friend and threaten him for a while before they let him know it's a joke.

On another one, three guys take an unconscious woman into a hospital. They say they were driving nearby and saw her passed out by the side of the road. They're taken to a room. Then a doctor and some police come in and tell them the woman has actually been dead for 24 hours and they're going to have to answer some tough questions.

Fake suicide bombers, fake psychopathic dentists, fake killer clowns with shotguns...

Granted, in Mexico the rules about liability are a lot more lax, but a lot of that show is probably staged. I'm suspicious of most of these reality shows. Someone told me once that most of Cops is faked :)

There's a another reality show where they put people in moral testing situations. For example, a woman comes up to a guy on the subway and said a mugger just stole her purse. The guy confronts the mugger. Then a camera crew rushes up and gives him a gold medal and a microwave oven (I am serious). Or a young man walks up to an old woman in a park. He acts very depressed and asks her for advice because he's thinking of selling his liver on the black market (I am serious). She is shocked and tries to persuade him not to do it, so she gets a gold medal and a microwave oven. Some reality show on America eventually copied this premise.

Here's an Infarto episode from Youtube. the guy being pranked is the one with short hair dressed in black. His friend is pretending they need to go collect on something....
