I think this is good news because it enables the top fighters of the two organizations to fight one another. We can see Fedor do battle with the guys in the UFC.

I do wonder though how the culture of the UFC will change Pride and MMA in general. UFC likes to focus on its characters, and their structure can sometimes shut serious contenders out. Not to bash on Randy Couture (who is very good), but he got a shot at the title after losing two in a row. This certainly never would have happened in the professional boxing world. Tim Sylvia was fat and out of shape, and he most definitely did not face the best competition out there. Sometimes junior fighters have to wait years for their title shots.
