Something that has always bothered me about health care was the cost of medicine. Boingboing had an article about it that I thought could be very helpful to people if they were not aware of it. Basicly, generics from Sams Club and Costco are very inexpensive compared to the same generics from places like Walgreens, Eckerd's and CVS. You can also legally fill your prescriptions of generics online and you DO NOT need to be a member. Sams Club and Costco can be less than 10% the cost from the regular pharmacies, or to look at it another way, Walgreens Eckerd's and CVS can be over 1000% the cost of buying from Sam's club and Costco.

My friend I think America is one of the highest wage level nations and the environment is created in such a way that people falling sick is a very rare incident. This makes it less risky for Insurance companies to underwrite health policies and the premiums tend to be low compared to other countries.
