There is a clip in youtube called Oh : the confusion of the asian american male.

It is pretty much Asian women berating Asian men for having a lack of pride in one self but toward the end of the clip the guy said he is non-asian but Mexican. The last asian girl said " do you want to make out " or something like that.

Anyway I thought the clip was pretty funny and I read some of the post that youtubers wrote. As typical it became a race war between the white guys claiming that Asian women love " white cock" and how insecure asian men are and Asian men fighting back and saying things like "asian girls are hoes". Anyway you get the picture.

I try to avoid inter-racial subject because I think I wrote too much of it in the past and we all know about it but after watching that clip and reading some of the post (I know some of you will say avoid negative stuff ) it dawn on me that Asian women are fought like a commodity between Asian men and white men.

Asian men are hurt that allot of Asian women prefer white guys and out of spite call Asian women hoes and call the white guys losers who cannot get a decent white girl. This will also imply that a decent white girl is always better than a decent Asian girl.

White men feeling smug and entitled to Asian women looks down on Asian men. Some of these white men who sleep , date , or even marry Asian girl has this false sense of superiority complex because they think because they are "white" it gives them a higher advantage in getting an asian girl.

If you think about and strip away race ..and replace white guys and asian guys in a different category like hunks vs. geeks.

For example I sometimes check out www.bodybuilding.com (I lift in my free time.) Guys who are good looking has it easier in getting girls where as guys who are geeky does not. Typically hunks or studs look down on geeks and call them losers and women are nothing but sex object and prizes to win.

This in many ways remind me anytime white guys and asian guys flame each other about inter-racial dating. White guys see themselves as the hunks and the asian guys are the geeks. Two different categories but the common denominator is that both are men with sexist veiw point.

Why? because the women are the prize. Don't believe me? If you get a room full of guys they will talk about how many girls they sleep with or describe girls as an object and nothing more.

With Asian and white there is the element of racism involved. anyway..I'm not sure where I am going with this but I'm seeing the inter-racial landscape in a different angle.

Anytime a white guy sees an Asian girl with a white guy it is like they feel prouder for being white ..where as an asian guy may feel little bit insecure about it.

where does this leave Asian women? do they have a voice?
Yes, they do..but I think action speaks louder than words. An Asian girl could say I am not like that I don't date any of those type of guys but ...what does that matter....because in the end..they are just prizes for the men to win..

(I don't mean to be sexist in writing this but if you think about my last statement you know what I really meant.)

I think this larger argument is the more important focus, but it's still good that you pointed out the different directions and general reasons it can lead to.

Plus, it's good that you're trying to keep yourself more upbeat kwak.

There are certain demographics in any of those groups mentioned who fit the description. However, there are many that do not as well. Not everybody thinks nor behaves in the manner described.

Well irregardless of race... men compete for women in general. The Alpha Male theory. It's been like this since men were cavemen and out hunting saber-tooth tigers for food.

I think the past 50 years has been like a real revolution in terms of women identity, especially in Western countries... but the past 50 years does not wash away thousands and thousands of years of genetic tradition.

That's why women these days can get caught between the enlightened feminism empowerment and yet still find themselves falling back on old traditions (i.e. seeking out a tall, rugged man to protect their families).

It's also why it gives great confusion to us males because women are sending us so many mixed signals. Do women want us to be the traditional bring-home-the-bacon guy that we've been since the beginning of mankind or do they want the new-age enlightened male of the past 50 years? The answer is they usually want both so we have to constantly shift back and forth between the two states.

Especially in terms of the Asian females. Because let's face it, Asia itself is still very traditional and conservative in terms of attitudes towards females. But then the Asian females that grew up in Western countries soak up this liberalist feminist stuff while still living in fairly traditional families.

The traditional Asian family probably wants them to marry a hard-working model minority Asian guy. But then of course you've got the Western media and society giving them images of the typical "bad boy" rebellion white guy and images of "girrrrl power" and whatnot. So yeah, there's some confusion going on my friend... but not just for Asian men.

For all males and women as we continue to march onward into a new 21st century where many of the old "ways" are being washed away in favor of the new modern enlightened digital age.

A lot of the generalizations in your post have already been addressed by the other comments, so I'll just point out one that jumps out at me as off-kilter:

For example I sometimes check out www.bodybuilding.com (I lift in my free time.) Guys who are good looking has it easier in getting girls where as guys who are geeky does not. Typically hunks or studs look down on geeks and call them losers and women are nothing but sex object and prizes to win.

This is too simple by half. There are plenty of girls out there who prefer the skinny dude with glasses to the musclehead, after all. Some guys play the game of pretending that if they're the bigger Alpha Male they'll Get The Girl, but in reality those guys are mainly kidding themselves, not responding to real incentives created by girls out there. No matter what you're like, there's probably a girl out there somewhere who thinks you're the bees' knees. That goes for casual hook-ups as well as relationships; the guys I know who get the most girls aren't the jock types.

That's sevenohfive stuff, funny dudes. I thought I posted them a long while ago. 3cardstud is my fave... though I think they lost some of that edge they had when they were younger.

..oh by the way, Maogirl, I was in HK a few weeks ago. I can now see why you're so in love with the place.

What was your friend's original intention for making the clip?

he always gets mistaken for filipino and people get mad at him for saying that he's not, they think he's in denial about being asian.

anyway, as far as i know, the chick saying "wanna make out?" is just for laughs and doesn't mean anything.

I see. That's cool, but unfortunately, that video has been used so many times on the Net (like on YouTube itself) to belittle AMs, who supposedly have nothing to do with it. I hope those involved in making the video are aware of that, if it's not their intention.

well, as a matter of fact, his film group is with two other asian american men who helped out on the production. maybe you should take it up with them.

although, really, what do you expect them to do? you can't control how people use your product especially on the net.
