Hard Gay is pretty old school now... either that or Ive been living here too long.

The biggest punch line of his whole career IMO was that he just got married like 3 months ago... the girl is hot! Like SMOKIN hot! I didnt speculate as to Hard Gays sexual preference during his heyday, but IMO it was just so damn funny that he get one of the hotter JP ladies Ive seen on TV in awhile.

Guess maybe his Gay wasnt that Hard...

Funny thing is, here in Japan, nobody thinks thats funny. (his marriage, not my lame cracks about it)

He was pretty big when I was in Japan, and it always struck me as kind of bigoted - Japanese society is pretty awful when it comes to stereotyping of marginalized groups. Hell, in Japan there's almost no knowledge by the average young person of the class system of 'untouchables', the Buraku-min. It'd be like an America where most young people had never heard of slavery or segregation.

Yeah, it made me laugh, but I don't like the forces in Japanese society that are behind it.

The difference (between Burakumin and slavery) Being that Blacks in the US although systematically discriminated against, are not openly discriminated against without legal repercussions. In Japan, in someone is Burakumin you can refuse them work, loans, living space... even if you have an established pattern of same... its highly unlikely that any legal trouble would befall you.

For all my gripes about back home... At least open discrimination usually carries penalties... Unless youre name is Adidas and youre making shoes, or a novelty shop selling tshirts...
