Iwao Takamoto, the creator of Scooby Doo passed away Monday. After being released from a Japanese internment camp he went on to work for Disney, and then a few other productions you probably know very very very well.
This guy had a very strong role in shaping a good deal of my childhood entertainment!! (Same as anyone else who was a kid in the 70s or 80s)
