Hello Fighting 44's. I figure I should post an introduction as I just submitted my first post on this site. I've read the "Declarations of Intent" and the rules, and I'm a firm believer in the power of the internet as a forum for open and intelligent discussions without personal attacks.

I'm a 40 year old ethnic Chinese male living in Los Angeles. I was born in Taiwan, with ethnic Chinese parents (not Taiwanese). I speak Mandarin pretty fluently, but unfortunately, my reading and writing skills are very poor. I left Taiwan at the age of seven, when my family immigrated to the island of Guam. That's where I got my U.S. citizenship.

I spent all my childhood on the island of Guam, leaving there after high school for college in California. Therefore, I sometimes consider myself a Pacific Islander.

I work in the aerospace industry. My background is in physics, but I mostly do engineering these days.

One of my hobbies is screenwriting, not exactly a unique activity here in La-La land, but it's a nice creative outlet for me. Not that I wouldn't mind having one of my stories on the big screen, of course.

I'm looking forward to exchanging and learning some new ideas from everyone here on the Fighting 44's.

Hey Dirac, I love your name! Although the real Dirac (P.A.M. Dirac) was an engineer by training, who later became a physicist. That didn't stop him from founding Quantum Mechanics (along with Schroedinger). Of course you probably already know that. :D

Thanks - that's why I chose it. Also because he was from England!

Hi, welcome aboard!!! I'm a film graduate and also wouldn't mind writing a script for the big screen someday. I'm considering applying for an M.F.A. program in Los Angeles.

Thanks LSL. Which school are you thinking about applying to for your M.F.A?

My first choice is USC, then UCLA.
