I probably shouldn't post this here but I couldn't resist. It is about cooking after all.

Some vegans will eat placenta because nothing was harmed in the harvesting of the "flesh". Not my first choice in meat but hey, if someone wants to eat placenta, then more power to them. I bet it's good for folks who are anemic. I'm more curious about how many people show up to deliver their babies with tupperwares to bring home their placenta in.

^^ Very true.
Actually, many cultures have a history of eating placenta, both in the East and West.

THere was a show a while ago, like in the last 10 years from England called TV Dinners hosted by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall (I think) and he used to show up at different people's homes every week and help them prepare a meal. The one I remember most vividly was the placenta episode. This lady saved her placenta from the hospital in a tupperware and there it was, sitting in her fridge, ready to be cooked. The host of the show actually ate some of it, and there was a big uproar in England because people who watched it thought it was disgusting.
Here's a link to a BBC article about that episode.

Well, yes, but it's not so good if you can hear your arteries clogging during digestion of said deep-fried stuff. :P

Pshaw, artery-clogging is a myth They spread to KEEP US DOWN! How could eating delicious foods your body clearly loves and craves somehow stop blood from flowing to and from your heart?! The very notion is ridiculous!
My triple-bypass last month was caused genetically, dammit!!

I remember placenta being an ingredient in a lot of shampoos.
