Occasionally, an obnoxious White person will come on this site and "tell us how it is."
Our most notable examples of this have been "angrywhiteman" and our boy Anthony P., a.k.a. "worldview" and "genetics" (he registered two times to give us twice the fun!).
What happens when someone like this comes on the is that by simply identifying himself as White and posting his obnoxious opinions, he will get the entire board to listen to him. He will become the center of attention in a way that no similarly dumb Asian could do. He will effortlessly become the focus of all the members here, and he will take this for granted, as though it were an everyday occurrence. Because for him, it is. Everyone pays attention to him. His opinions swing the world. This is one aspect of White privilege.
When this occurs on this forum, we will do everything we can to minimize its effect, but we will not, and cannot, eradicate it. Put simply, this is a result of the hierarchy and power structure of both North America and the world. The White opinion and the White action is the most important opinion and the most important action, and so if he is loud or extreme enough, all attention will naturally be drawn to him. We will endeavour to educate and to establish mutual understanding where for an Asian or Black or Brown or Red with a similar opinion, we might not.
If mutual understanding is deemed impossible, and attempts to achieve it appear fruitless, then we will simply cut the "knot" and institute a ban. In these cases, you may call us "Alexander."
