Have any of y'all ever try HGH to increase muscle mass or height?

No. Some athletes use that, but I'm not a professional sports player. Personally, I'm not a fan of injecting stuff into your body unless it's for medical reasons. Or coke.

I can see how some people might want to use that to get taller or stronger. But I'm in the "Be happy with who you are" camp.

Now, if there was a medicine to get smarter, then people should take that to get rid of all the idiots in this world. On second thought, maybe not because a world of super-geniuses would be kind of scary. A bunch of Einstein's who can build weapons or something. Plus, it'd be annoying to live in a world full of smart-asses.

So anyways, I'm against people genetically altering their bodies or brain unless it's to grow some superpowers. Then I can use my superpowers to finally take over the world... AHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Have any of y'all ever try HGH to increase muscle mass or height? It killed Lyle Alzado. If you're doing it as therapy under a doctor's supervision, then that's one thing, if you go on your own, you're flirting with disaster, not the least of which is potential organ damage (heart, liver, kidneys).

I agree. There are real risks (overgrowth of facial bones being one- that can be deforming) that are irreversible. I wouldn't even touch the stuff unless you have a real medical need for it, but never for cosmetic need.

My parents wanted me to have HGH treatments but the doctors said that it wasn't good. That's why I take HeightMax.

HGH is not steroid. Lyle died because he was addicted to steroid.

Does HeightMax work at all? What age is goog of HGH, does anyone know.

Hey TS,

Can you list the Nutritional fact of HeightMax?

For some reason, it sounds like a multi vitamin like MegaMen. Multi-vitamin taken during puberty just ensure that you grow, just like food makes you grow. I think HeightMax doesn't do anything because anyone between ages 12-25 will see a little growth and it could just be natural. I grew three inches since I came to college and I didn't even take anything. Anyway, I could be wrong.

HGH for height reasons has to be started when you are a kid while your bones are still growing. Once your bones have stopped growing it's useless for height reasons.

I would not attempt to buy HGH injectibles from Mexico or other places because you can seriously mess up your body that way.

He admitted to steroid use but said he didn't use them towaqrds the end of his career or during his comeback because of the testing in the NFL. He said he had switched to HGH to gain mass and bulk and was using it regularly for years. I think if he had been on steroids, his comeback might not have been such a failure.

I'm not a doctor, below is what I've learned from my research of HGH. Take it for what you will.

What do you want to use HGH for?

If you use HGH for height, then all the studies have centered on people with abnormally low HGH levels. You also need to start taking HGH when you are a child. If you have normal HGH levels and take supplimental HGH for height as a child, it may or may not make you taller (large grey area since no one knows how tall you would have grown without it). It is known that high levels of HGH can cause significant problems, as others have noted.

If you are using HGH for increased muscle mass, it has been proven effective for that purpose. Taken in moderation it does not seem to cause significant short term health issues and actually seems to have some beneficial effect such as seemingly increased cell repair. On the flip side, it may cause significant long term health issues. One known side effect is that the body, seeing abnormal levels of HGH reduces or eliminates its own production of HGH. Thus once you come off injected HGH, you will be HGH deficient even if you were not before. The body may start to produce HGH again eventually, but it may not. That just is not known. If you start taking HGH to boost your HGH levels beyond normal, be prepared for the possibility of taking HGH injections for the rest of your life.

waste of money, virtually. I believe HGH is destroyed by the acidity in the mouth and GI tract.

A teenager/early twenty something produces about 500 micrograms a day of HGH a day. Every decade there is about a 14% reduction in HGH output. Taking HGH to maintain HGH level of 500 micrograms a day as you age has proven to be safe in the short term and provides several benefits. Incrased muscle mass, fat loss, better fat distribution, higher HDL lower LDL cholesteral, improved bone mass, better sking depth, regrowth of shrunken internal organs, lowered blood pressure, incrased kidney function, increased immune system, better cardiac flow, faster wound healing and reduced scarring, etc.

Some possible term side effects can be increased susceptabiilty to carpal tunnel syndrome, gynecomastia (breast enlargment), and some people taking somatropin may have developed CJD. This is one good reason why you need to know what you are taking and get it from a reputable source, not some "magic juice" a friend's friend's source hauled out of the trunk of some car. There have been no serious long term studies of HGH usage to maintain a 500 microgram/day level. Most long term studies (actually all the serious studies I have heard of) have been for HGH levels far in excess of normal. Maintaining HGH levels significantly over 500 micrograms at any age causes serious medical complications, be it your natural level or be it artificially enhanced.

As for dietary intake of HGH as opposed to injection, human growth hormone is a 191 chain amino acid hormone that is too delicate to be made in any oral form (pill, powder, spray, etc). The digestive system quickly breaks it down before it can be absorbed.

A regimine of 200 micrograms/day of HGH costs about $1,000 a month. HGH is perscription only. The only way it can be sold as a suppliment is if the suppliment contains less than 2001 nanograms of HGH, or 2.001 micrograms. As far as HGH is concerned, 2001 nanograms is just shy of taking nothing, 1% or less than the "standard" dosage given for all short term studies which showed any benefits.

If anyone has any information on controlled long term HGH tests to maintain a 500 microgram daily level, I would be more than happy to read them.

this is really vague, but partially correct. Long term usage of HGH in people with normal output is DANGEROUS.

This is SOOO typical of wv – while I actually learned a few things about HGB which I hadn’t known before from a number of posters here, I learned absolutely NOTHING form wv (how could he even criticize minbo for being "VAGUE" when you really can’t get more vague than "this is really vague, but partially correct. Long term usage of HGH in people with normal output is DANGEROUS" – not to mention the fact that HE is INCORRECT since we really DON'T know about the long-term affects of HGB in moderate doses, although there are legitimate concerns).

And btw – racism is bad, don’t judge an entire race based on the actions of a minority, treat everyone as an individual, etc. (duh!!!)
