Mmmm, SPICY! I love Ethiopian foods with berber sauce (sexily hot sauce), and Thai foods. Those are my favorites. But right now I'm eating sliced Mangos spiced with Chili power, salt, peper and sprinkled with lemon juice.... MMMMmmmMMMMmm GOOD!

I like all types of Chinese Pickles (xian cai). I like them with hot water or plain rice porridge. I also like anything with cumin in it, such as curry.

HAHAHA, holy crap that is a deep and abiding love for the McRib. If we ever hit Hawaii, we're gonna have to do that and take beer from that big horn of yours (which sounds sexual, I know).

McRib is good, but you can get a pretty good quasi-mcrib at any Mr. Sub and most Subways. They use a similar porklike-substance pressed in a faux-bony shape, serve assorted buns, and have the bbq sauce and onions, plus any other toppings you want.

I haven't touched fast food (aside from french fries three months ago at Jack in the Crack- it was an emergency folks) for over a decade.

About as close as I get to fast food would be Rubio's and their grilled fish taco (not exactly unhealthy).

My food trap is chocolate and fine pastries. French pastries and low fat should not be used in the same sentence.

It's not as bad as dragon's fast food fetish, but I love going to Tony Roma's and ordering their buffalo wings (which I dip in ranch NOT blue cheese) as an appetizer and then a half slab of their Blue Ridge Smokies with corn on the cob and a baked potato with extra butter, bacon, sour cream, and chives. And I also eat as much sour dough bread as I can cuz their garlic butter is delicious!

Oh and after clubbing, my favorite food to eat is a Sourdough Jack with no tomato :) There's a Jack in the Box about 2 blocks from this club my girlfriends and I go to.

Cattygurl, you should try Mary's Chocolates from Brussels:

After eating Belgian chocolate, I can barely look at American-made chocolate anymore. Their florentine cookies are to die for!

grilled cheese and tomato soup
garlic/olive/zucchini pizza

Right now, i'm digging
melon-pan and curry-pan in Japan.

Melon-pan is a super-soft sweet bread with a melony falvour, and curry pan is curry surrounded in deep-fried bread dough.

Yum.

I can't find decent melon-pans and curry-pans stateside, so i'm eating those like it's going out of style. After all, i don't know when I can make it back to Japan again.

From the internet pic I saw of curry-pan, it does look yummy, but I couldn't find a recipe so submitted a recipe request somewhere.

I did find a recipe for melon pan:

For one Melon Pan

10g butter
10g sugar
1 tbsp melon syrup
20g shifted flour
1 beaten egg
granulated sugar

Mix butter, sugar and syrup well
Add flour a little at a time and knead it
Coat bread with beaten egg
Put dough on the bread
Sprinkle granulated sugar

Bake bread in an oven at 180 degrees C for 7min

Belgian make awesome beers and chocolates.

However, I do admit I have a thing for Valhoronas (sp?) bittersweet chocolates for baking. Droool.

I used to brew beer, got pretty decent at it. I no longer have my equipment (an unnamed person took off with it )

My favorite US breweries:

Stone (Arrogant Bastard and their limited edition Vertical Epic are da bomb yo)
Rogue (they just make some foine brews)
Anderson Valley (You gotta love the mascot- a grizzly with antlers)
I do like Ommegang (like the name, especially... they make Belgian Style Beers)
Celis (their Celis white rocks)

Foreign Beers:
Damn Belgians and Canadians take this one:
Chimay
Hughye (sp?) They make Delerium Tremens
Unibrowe
Lindmanns (sp) make the best lambics, hands down.

Scowl can attest to my beer knowledge (if he remembers...)

Beers:

Creemore Springs Lager (Canadian microbrewery). My absolute favorite.

Asahi (Japan). Good times.

Murphy's (Ireland). So smooth.

This is a kid's favorite, and I like things that make me feel like a kid again (Halloween's my favorite holliday). The mac and cheese has to be done just right for me to like it nowadays.

Velveeta is pretty creamily good for this dish. You should try mac and cheese with sloppy joe (ground turkey) on the side. Some people like it with ketchup.

Lately, I've been finding out that soy sauce goes very well with baked potatoes and butter. Sometimes a little sour cream on top of all that as well. Soy sauce is the key though.

weird.
