What is it that has called you so suddenly out of nothingness to enjoy for a brief while a spectacle which remains quite indifferent to you? The conditions for your existence are as old as the rocks. For thousands of years men have striven and suffered and begotten and women have brought forth in pain. A hundred years ago, perhaps, another man - or woman - sat on this spot; like you he gazed with awe and yearning in his heart at the dying of the glaciers. Like you he was begotten of man and born of woman. He felt pain and brief joy as you do. Was he someone else? Was it not you yourself? What is this Self of yours?
-- Erwin Schrodinger
Ultimately, the 44s want EVERYONE, guy or girl (and everything in between), Asian or non-Asian (and everything in between), to be able to answer that question as deeply and completely as (s)he can.
But to understand what he's even asking, to see what people like Schrodinger, Mother Theresa, Nagarjuna, Dogen, Lao Tzu, Plotinus, Emerson, and countless others saw, well, it's going to take some work.
We're going to have to do our best to kick shit up, jolt some people awake, repair some of the damage to our own souls, and maybe even bring a smile to a face or two.
So let's get going.
What is it? Quite simply, my parents, dude. Dad is Chinese. Mom is Chinese. Me? Chinese, obviously. I have NO problems with my identity. It's really as simple as that. Now, work-wise, love-wise, that's for me to figure out....but, then again, that's life for everyone.
So, who am I? I am ________. My dad is from Hok Shan (near Toi Shan) in Guangdong, China. My mom is from Hong Kong, China.
I was born here, but I speak my native language fluently (not even an American accent). I listen to Chinese pop (HK and Taiwanese). I watch Chinese and Taiwanese soaps. I guess that you can call me an ABC FOB.

Furthermore, I guess that you can call me a "Han"....the first people that had lived along the Yellow River in China.
Like some other posters out there, I'm Asian to the core!

Need more detail? I can give you the street in China where my dad's family is from....hundreds (if not, thousands) of years ago.
That's who I am!
