I'll use the post below for an opener, and try not to ramble too much, since I'm new here...
---------------------------------------------------
- My name is (classified). Jae is fine, though.
- I'm 25 years old.
- I live in the East Bay of California(think around SF)
- I'm mixed. My mother is Black & My Dad is Puerto Rican.(hey!I didn't have to change this one!)
- I'm into every music except for Country(Conway Twitty does -not- work for me). I'd say my first love is Hip-Hop, though I still love and listen to Rock, Techno, and House frequently.
- I emcee.
- I'm a K-8 Comp. Sci instructor in a local school.
-----------------------------------------------------
Q&A:

1)OMFG WTF ARE U DOING ON THIS SITE BECUZ U R NOT ASIAN AND U ARE A WANNA BEE FUCK YOU FAG0T!

Although I'm pretty damn confident that I won't recieve any welcomes quite that harsh(or lacking in discernable english and grammar 8)), I think that the cause stated on this site is a worthy one, and one that could benefit people regardless of ethnicity. A good friend of mine(you know her as vhg//Alita) gave me a heads up on the site, and I decided to take a look after her suggestion.

Do I know what it's like to be Asian?Nope. Do I have a drop of Asian blood in me?Not in any discernable fashion, I suppose. Do I suffer from stereotyping of any type?

You'd better believe it

I won't try to win your popularity contests with tales of how "my best friends are asian", but I will tell you that I am utterly sick of not only seeing myself and others forced into a corner due to stereotype, regardless of skin color. I've wanted to violently strangle, on more than one occasion, not only people who asssme due to skin color that I'm going to choose the chicken entree over the beef, or that I'm going to rob them, but the people who happen to have the same skin color as myself who assume that they get a free, "Hey!Be an asshole! It's okay, you're genetically pre-disposed to do so!" pass because they've been "oppressed", and they're trying to cash in on a stereotype, rather than thinking and acting for themselves. Consider it a declaration of war that I have continued to throw down the gauntlet on many times-I have grown tired of these views, and would love to do something about them.

So, why go on this tour of anger management here, rather than going to a site with those who are a bit more familiar with your ethnic problems?

If I had recieved an invite for those sites, I'd jump into the forums there, as well, but this happened to be where I landed. I'm also of the mindset that "The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend"-why not speak to individuals who are likeminded that "there is no justice"?The short version is the one we all know, but some of us have grown toxic with frustration and hate that's been misdirected, yet we are all being manipulated by the same people, and driven against each other so that they maintain control. I don't desire an advantage based on ethnic background-I desire a truly equal shot, as I assume most in these forums do as well, hence my presence.

If you'll have me, I'll take a look around?

Whassup Jae, welcome to the 44s.

Glad to have you here. There's all sorts of good shit to check out, some of which you'll be able to directly relate to, some not.

Honest truth: some folks will not appreciate your presence here, but rest assured the Core44s (as well as Alita who's a mod) are down, and as long as you don't go "telling people how to be Asian" (which I'm sure you won't), everything'll be cool.

Now SPIT, muthafucka!

Hey Jae,

If you post your opinion on Asian issues here, some people will chew you out for doing so and immediately disregard whatever you say.

I'd like to say most of us won't.

Furthermore, it seems to me that the anger of the 44 is easily understood and adopted by cultures other than those of the Asian American male. All the articles and posts here are constructed out of anger, anger built out of a deep love for our vision of the future. I hope anyone can understand that - Asian or not.

Welcome aboard.

...East Bay for life.

Peril, Pat's not saying 44s don't understand it well. He's saying other people understand it too. Some of the catalysts may be different, but they UNDERSTAND!!!

Considering I was the only american-african in the room, and the rest were of asian descent of a mixed type, I'd say she was repping you guys pretty hard. Give her some credit....

I threw 'em up to post some audio in a forum online to show that not everyone who keystyles is still in preschool with writing, and just might be able to spit. What's funny is the fact that some kid said I wrote those, and then talked shit over a two week period before I challenged him to post audio or shut the hell up. He posted it, and I wrote a reply in 24 hours that cooked his sorry ass, but he took down the diss cut....maybe I'll post it here, since I saved it for good laughs.

and what's wrong with that? Jahi's my friend, and knowing him, I knew he'd fit in well in a place like this. Besides, is there something wrong with having a black guy here, especially one with kickass political views? Do tell.

I'm pretty sure she asked both, guys!

We'll see if she did, which so far there hasn't been any new ASIAN members M/F, no sellouts please.

FYI I did meet a lot of Asian people over the past few days and I've referred them to this site. Whether they choose to visit or not is up to them.

His political views are not completely clear. He seems to infer there is a common enemy against minorities of color meaning noncaucasian which is not entirely true in my opinion. The problem comes from the fact there are real differences between races, ethnicity and in a larger context culture and should be protected. The animosity is normal when two opposing or opposites do not respect eachothers boundaries. Not everyone wants a pureed stew in the name of diversity. There is value in preservation of a culture. Btw, race is not just skin deep. I do agree that stereotypes are annoying but the least of the real problem.

Whassup Kenly,

You said "infer" when you meant "imply." Ah God I've always wanted to use that .... :D

You all got good points; just don't be assholes and we're good to go.

First thing-if you have a question, feel free to address me.

I'd like to ask your exact meaning by "pureed stew"-specific examples, please?

In my opinion, there is a common enemy among minorities-it's the perception that we are just that, and that we shouldn't have a voice. It's the person who decides to let it slide when someone makes a racial joke, or the person who thinks that we should keep having caucasian presidents because "that's how it's always been". This status quo has to be shown to be flawed, and that's part of the reason I'm here.

I'd also like to ask you what this quote means, and ask you to specify what you want to know about my views.

"His political views are not completely clear. He seems to infer there is a common enemy against minorities of color meaning noncaucasian which is not entirely true in my opinion. "

Which of my political views are you questioning, and what are yours?Let's contrast here a bit?

Whats a Motorball Match?

VHG's other nickname, Alita, is from a manga called Gunnm, or in the states, Battle Angel Alita. It's the story of this cybernetic girl who is put back together by a doctor, and eventually finds her destiny as a Hunter, a cyborg who takes out criminals and such. The "Motorball Match" reference is to a competition that occured in the book that's almost like a cross between soccer and roller derby, but with weapons.....the combatants have to make a certain amount of laps around the field while keeping the ball in their posession the whole time, and people get knocked the fuck out left and right. My explanation is far from adequate, though....pick up the book for a better one.

Oh yeah Jae, Containerz is Black/Latino as well, I believe.

At Fighting44s, we love all the crazy combinations.

(Except for ones in the South involving family.)

Funny because it's true. Fankids as soooo funny :)

Have you ever seen any of Yazawa Ai's work? She dad Nana, Paradise Kiss, and Kinjou no Monogatari. The latter was made into Anime, but I've not seen it except in Japanese...

I've heard of it, but haven't checked it out. I've heard good things about Paradise Kiss, though, so I might have to check for it. Fankids scare the shit out of me.....I mean, it's all good to have a hobby, but these cats go to hotels with about $5 in their pocket to last for 5 days, but will flip $150 on Anime, and sleep on a couch eating ramen. What's even worse is that I have a friend(filipino) who's ex said he had a "Japanese Spirit"(also filipino). I think it's obvious what at least one of the reasons was why she left the idiot, but that just struck me as damn stupid.

I've actually been waiting to see Teknolyze, and I have a copy of Gungrave I'll probably watch today. I used to have a strong desire to watch Naruto, since it wasn't the worst series in the world, but ever since the billion man Naruto rush at the damn con, it killed my desire.........they're turning that shit into the next Pokemon.
