I agree that insulting the Bakers is completely unnecessary. However, the charge that they were manipulative has a basis in fact. I suggest you read my commentary on the three court judgments of the case, in which the judges give extensive descriptions the facts surrounding this very unfortunate set of events. You’ll note that if the lower court judges had actually used anything remotely close to reason in their judgments, Anna Mae would have been returned to her family years earlier. The delay in her return was compounded by the Bakers’ manipulation of court processes.

Calling people ugly and unnecessary names only makes you look bad and very uneducated with what is going on. You know nothing about these families or Anna Mae except for what you are being given. You have no right to pass judgement on anyone because you do not personally know them. None of us can even imagine what that baby girl is having to deal with right now. I personally know Anna Mae He. She is a very strong little girl. Yes, I know she will survive this, but it sickens me that she was taken from the only life she has ever known and thrown into a world that is completely overwhelming her. Personally, I don’t think Anna could care less if her parents are apart..because to that little girl no one will be her momma and daddy except for the Bakers. I’m not here to pass judgement on either family. I know the He’s just wanted their daughter back, but they made the mistake a long time ago to give her up… deal with it. The Bakers have done nothing but provide a stable life for Anna… they are not manipulative nor did they ever “brainwash” Anna. They just loved her and she loved them. Never was she denied the chance to learn about her culture. She just told everyone that she wasn’t interested in it because she was born in America and that made her an American, not Chinese. This child has gone through enough to last her a lifetime. Only through the grace of God has she been as brave as she has been. All I can do is pray that she stays strong and that God protects her and leads her to where she feels free.

Very traumatic for her, but she’ll get over it.

I think this story is perfectly illustrate’s white entitlement. I have no respect for those red-neck in TN.

Man, that’s all horrible. I hope the parents can reconcile something, and the Bakers are still assholes.
