And let’s do be honest here; if the Spanish team had “honored” an African country by donning black face and Afro wigs, there’d be plenty of damnation coming down on them. More, they just wouldn’t have done it.

Why then is it okay for them to single out another race’s physical attributes…???

Answer: It’s not.

But, to say one thing.

Not every country is as enlightened as the United States. I know how everybody likes to rag on the U.S. for being racist, and there’s some merit to those accusations, but few countries have as much experience as the U.S. when it comes to dealing with racism. Consequently, there’s a clear standard of polite and acceptable behavior in the U.S. that may not exist in other countries, particularly homogeneous ones. Spain’s population is not nearly as diverse as America’s, and thus, their boundaries for racial etiquette may be cruder. It doesn’t signal racial animosity, just gross ignorance.
