There were and still are (courtesey of youtube and the inter wide nets) a couple of other Vitamin Water commercials in the same vein. One is of Shaquille O'neal as a jockey competing and ultimately winning in a horse race. Another is of Tracy McGrady wearing a kilt in a sheep throwing contest somewhere presumably in Scotland. I don't think the badminton commercial has as much of a "racial" element as it does an element of general condescending ignorance that views badminton as an inferior, fringe sport.

If I am not mistaken, Vitamin Water is the same company a couple of years back that used a caricatured Asian accented voice for its automated phone line. I would find that much more troubling.

Well to be fair, the end of the commercial shows two white badminton players nursing their injuries from their own match with Ortiz and Urlacher. So for me, it is less racist then it is ignorant Americana garbage.
