I haven’t seen Oprah’s take on ravers…but I have seen her crystal meth show.

Also, Crash is bad. So bad that people embraced it as being THE race relations movie. Ugh.

Well, Oprah gets pretty weird sometimes, even in general I have a lot of respect for her. Did you ever see her “Ravers are the devil” show? That was hilarious.

On the flipside, Don Cheadle was IN “Crash”. WORST. MOVIE. (on race relations) EVER.

The debate about the usage of nigger reminds me of the time Don Cheadle was on Oprah with the cast of Crash and the two of them got in an argument about whether it was OK for the community to use the word. You could see the frustration Cheadle was going through, trying to explain his position on his right to use the word, whereas Oprah was highly against it. He knew he couldn’t push the issue with her. Sigh.

I don’t know a lot of his stuff, but from the tracks I’ve heard, Nas loves his people, and makes music that is thoughtful and uplifting without being corny and preachy. All of this without any sort of pandering or lowering himself or his people.

And on a totally superficial note, I loved his wife’s wedding dress.
