Fallout Central at the Asian Excellence Awards

Check out the video above. Those Fallout Central guys are on fire! Albert looks totally professional in his role as interviewer, and the video shoot/editing is excellent.

Now most of us in the blogosphere and beyond have issues with the choices that the Asian Excellence Awards leaders have made and continue to make.  They’ve made some questionable choices, such as Tony Leung for an Asian American award, as well as some downright insulting choices, such as Margaret Cho for comedy.  And Bobby Lee as a presenter?  It sometimes seems like AXA is in the business of giving awards to anyone who will take one.

But the real story here is that these Fallout Central guys are everywhere!  They’ve only been around for a year, and they are doing an awesome job at getting the stories!  After a great first year, they got a press pass to the Asian Excellence Awards, and they covered it in style.  They are seriously hardcore (and not just because of that last endorsement on their video clip!).  Their podcasts have covered just about everyone who is making tracks in Asian American culture these days.  First audio, then video…what next?

Those guys at fallout are great. I really think they are completely unique in their approach to activism. It’s so much more interactive than web forums where it seems like people just come on to make jokes and get ‘reputation points’ and be popular these days.

I personally wish Telly and George were still around as the original 4 some were perfectly in balance.

Good question. I wonder who invited him. Then again, who invited Bobby Lee to present?

I can’t believe Lucy Liu and Tila Tequilla were nominated for awards.
