I’ve never read the book, but there are excerpts out there for sure. And according to jake on NYTimes:

I’m curious about the race issue.

In the book, he spent several pages talking about how they relied on the Asian players because the casinos would not question a young Asian player who had a lot of money.

So I wonder why he’s saying it wasn’t a big deal.

Got this from the article. What difference does it make if a Japanese or a Korean plays an Asian American role. Ma is an idiot and misses the whole point.

The movie maybe about gambling but race matters. By default people assume it is white and white is always right.

I think instead of pushing to boycott 21, tell people to download it as a torrent, rather than to watch in the theatre. Give the pirates a boost, and get Hollywood to suffer.

Actually, it looks like such a big pile of poo that nobody is going to watch it.

Why couldn’t they have cast Aaron Yoo or Leonardo Nam as the main guy? Both of them have young dude cute appeal. Nam is just badass.
