The Jena Six should have known better than gang up on one boy (no matter what color) and put him in the hospital; that was just irresponsible (and simply impractical when you're black and in a town like Jena). But then again, this is the 21st century, not 1962. People of color aren't going to sit back and do nothing when a white kid hangs nooses from a tree. To pull a stunt like that is to get on your kneels and literally grovel for disaster. This situation, like many other race-related situations in America, is like when someone unlocks a floodgate, and then cries foul at the inevitable devastation. This is a very fair and reasonable article.
