Harry Potter 5 and Cho

Saw HP 5 tonight; not bad, entertaining, but not one I’ll really want to watch again. 1 and 3 are still the top, in my opinion.
Cho Chang of course had a little part; her acting seemed fine, I just wish I could have heard more of her Scottish accent! I love hearing Asians with crazy European accents. Still can’t get over the Dutch ones and the French ones from Reunion Island I met a while back. It’s funny when they only speak, say, Dutch and Cantonese, and I only speak English, Mandarin, and some French: we must have had so many similar experiences, but we could barely communicate at all!
Anyway, somewhat appropriately, my buddy “Sothy” and I happened to be sitting right next to an Asian female/ white male couple. They made the appropriate cute and affectionate noises when Harry and Cho exchanged looks and held hands and kissed; they were clearly relating based on race, which was understandable. When Cho “betrayed” the group (damn Veritaserum!), I could sense there was some disappointment in the woman’s mind. I kinda felt bad for her; it didn’t seem like she’d read the books, and the whole Ginny hooking up later and Cho fading away will probably be disappointing.
With these sorts of movies, it’s always a shame they have so much acting talent on screen and barely any room at all to show it. Still, every scene with Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, and Dumbledore/Layer Cake gangster were great to watch. They just gotta find a way to throw McKellen and Stewart in there!
