this is what I did with 7 lbs of cherries

We didn’t pick these, they were probably picked by some migrant worker who hates white people, but hey, they were on sale, $1.50 a lb, they must have been picked a while ago because they weren’t as sweet as I would have liked. Even so, we managed to eat about 1/2 a lb of them.

After that I took 5 lbs of them and de-pitted and de-stemmed them.
yep those are cherries

Then I cooked them into jam.
yep that's cherry jam

Then I took 1.5 lbs of them and turned them into a delicious sorbetto. The stupid cherries oxidized so that’s why they’re brown, next time around I’ll add some sort of citrus to prevent that ugliness.
yep that's cherry sorbetto

    OMGOMG

I’d bet cherry marshmallows would be good too…

I love regular cherries but my favorite are the Ranier-type.

I should go to the store to check on sales… I haven’t left the house to do food shopping in like 2 weeks.

Dang missy, you’re the resident jam lady. I think you’ve got to post a recipe/directions for jam and canning.

I’ve been living on cherries the past month, I might end up being one. Catty, Costco’s got 3 lb of Ranier for about $9. The supermarkets around here have been charging $8-9/lb for Rainier which is crazy.

The local Costco doesn’t have Rainers! They did last year, but not this year yet. :(

They have it @ about 4 dollar/pound at the local grocery. i might have to break down and buy them very soon.
