Incredibly Racist Youtube Videos by CKY

We just came across this via Google — doing a search for “Chinese rap” on Youtube brings up a slew of results that are tributes to a really dumb racist song called “Chinese freestyle”.
Apparently the original “chinese freestyle” song is by someone in a butt-rock band called CKY, and has been around for years. They have some kind of connection to the movie Jackass. You can click on any of the links below to hear the song. A warning: it’s pretty disturbing. Do not listen if you’re already in a bad mood… seriously, just close this post and ignore the rest of it.

What is so irritating about the whole thing is HOW INCREDIBLY POPULAR THESE VIDEOS ARE. People (I’m assuming white people) are just eating it up with a fork. See the comments to the lyrics page above for a sample. “This song is so funny!” “If you think it’s racist, you’re a racist!” “I have a Chinese friend and I think it’s funny! If you don’t think it’s funny you must be a gay racist!”

If you want to do something about this:
- Go to youtube.com and sign up for a Youtube account (this takes about 30 seconds)
- Come back to this post. Click on the links below, opening each one in a temporary new window/tab, and rate each one 1 star or flag them for hate speech.
- Optional: paste a comment, with minimal energy, perhaps just one word, “racist”. This will drive the CKY fan commenters into a frenzy and cause them to use up all their feeble mental energy trying to articulate that they’re not racists.
If enough people do this, then “chinese” combined with “rap” keywords will actually give real results instead of the current racist crapfest.

This is a bunch white racist propagating stereotypes and making fun of you. You should be ashame of yourself. If you don’t see the implication and the racist elements in this song, you are blind and completely whitewashed.
You don’t see a lot of Asian/Black comedian making fun of rednecks. The blue collar comedy tour is a bunch white people poking fun as aspect of their redneck culture, which they are proud of. However, there are enough positive images to negate the negatives ones. Asian and Black/ Minority in general doesn’t have that privilege. So it is racist.
If you are proud of white people calling you my little-ass dick, calling you gay, and whether you want to suck their dick, then go ahead. I hope you live a happy life. Now leave….

Unfortunately, apparently only the original copyright holder can complain about that, according to the YouTube terms of service.

8:56 pm | Mar 27, 2007So what do you guys plan to do, protest and whine about something that really IS funny? Those videos and lyrics made me cringe too, but once I got over it, I laughed too. Whether you can accept it or not, some foreign-born Chinese do act and sound like that, and our western minds take it as very strange and peculiar. Yes, these videos are belittling to them, but it’s also not at the level of pure hateful racist bile.
Do you really think if you complain enough, people are going to stop laughing? It would make me laugh at you more. A part of me doesn’t like it of course, but I can see how they’re hilarious too. Anyways, have fun flagging. You can’t censure the Internets.

12:19 am | Mar 31, 2007Alright…I don’t have a problem with you saying that this video is racist or whatever, but I really think you should get some things straight before you say something like this. First of all, the guy who does this rap is NOT in the band CKY. He is friends with them, and there were 4 prank/stunt skateboarding movies put out called CKY. The band CKY shares the same name…but there music really has nothing to do with these videos. Yes there music is in these(this rap is not written by them), and they appear a few times, but thats about it. The band really has nothing to do with this other then the guitar player making the whole beat for it. So don’t call CKY a racist band when they didn’t even write this.

How is this not providing ammuntion for immature high-schoolers to regurgitate tired stereotypes at Asian students? Oh yeah, and it’s not funny, it’s incredibly stupid.
